Only good if you need 4k

I was very excited over the return of the optical port but that quickly ended when I realized the Roku4 will not down encode DD+ to DD.
If you don't require 4K I would get the Roku4 it offers no other advantages over the roku3 or 2.
The voice search did not work at all just sits processing.
Lastly just like the success of the RokuXS Don't ever count on games being on the Roku.
So what I have is a Roku that is larger uses more power and preformes the same as my other Rokus.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

No zoom for Standard channels

What I like best is not having to point the remote at the exact spot like previous versions. However, the ear plug, which was the primary reason I upgraded, are a disappointment. They are NOT wireless. They have to be plugged into the remote, which is very difficult when trying to listen to TV while exercising. I would not recommended it over Roku 1 given the extreme price increase.

Great features, noisy fan, buggy

While the Roku 4 may be a great update in time, right now I'm experiencing a lot of bugs -- including shut downs for no reason, or apps like Plex that experiencing lip sync problems that didn't occur on the Roku 3. And while hopefully many of these problems can be patched, the fan, as others have noted, is noisy and distracting.

Im Excited and proud owner of this device but it doesn't have anykind of flaws except in The Future I Hope that they release a HBO 4K or a Showtime 4k.

Remote wont stay paired

Pros: its fast - I can connect it to my router via Ethernet cable to bypass any Wi-Fi issues. I get no buffering issues like I had with the Roku Stick
Cons: 1) its huge!. 2) the remote wont stay paired. I've gone through the steps on the roku troubleshooting page and so far have not been successful. I've only had it a few days so I'm hoping this issue will clear up with a little more troubleshooting. (I never experienced this with the Roku Stick)
