Great apps, media player needs work

The only thing I have noticed so far is the media player file system viewer is irritating to navigate. If you have a large amount of files, the icons are too large and you can't easily see them. The text is truncated to 10 characters and doesn't cycle through the text to see the file names at all. The hidden files are visible which makes navigation a pain since you have to weed through extra files you would never click on. Other than that everything I have used so far works great such as the apps. The set up is user friendly. I would like the talk to text search to work in apps as well, such as youtube. When you use the 'search' feature it searches the entire Roku instead of inside the app so you will never find what you are looking for in youtube with this feature.

Great device to cut the Cord!

We recently purchased our Roku 4 a week ago and we were so impressed the access to online providers such as netflix, amazon, and hulu that we just purchased a second! We also love the easy access to allthe other streaming services. The Roku 4 does this seamlessly and the interface is very intuitive. The addition of the optical sound port in the 4 was the deciding factor as we really enjoy using our external audio systems.

Some Netflix Problems

We already had a Roku 3 and like it a lot, so we waited for Roku 4 to come out and got one for our second TV. If you have Ultra HD, this is the only Roku that will deliver that picture. We have regular HD, so the tech improvements don't matter much to us. What I have found as a nuisance is that for Netflix (which we use more than the other streaming channels) "My List" is all screwed up. Before I got the new Roku, it was fine. Since getting it, "My List" has disappeared from it's usual place near the top to the bottom. There is a quicker way to get to it, but it's counter-intuitive. My wife and I have separate "My Lists" but now mine is showing up for her list so she can't even get to her "My List". On the Roku 4 we can't get to the settings screen. Very frustrating and unacceptable.

This is a very easy to set up device, at first I was a sceptic and was hesitant to buy it. After I received it, I was really surprised. Love the features as well, like just speak and your movie comes up....

I have been using the roku3 for 6 months and i love it. I just bought the roku 4. it is much faster . still discvering new items about it !!

Night and day compared to roku 3!

Easy to setup and soooo much faster and more responsive than my roku 3. I have seen complaints about noisy fan and excessive heat but personally haven't experienced those issues. It has frozen twice from being off and booting back on which is one of the new energy saving features but a quick reboot has worked and no buffering issues like my 3. I bought it skeptically and very happy. My only complaint is my roku 3 is almost new and can't touch the quality of the 4. I highly recommend upgrading AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

Good quality

This is very good for picture quality. I tried earlier Google TV and Sony DVD player, but compare to them roku4 is more well. Only one disadvantage is YuppTV does not work on Roku. I'm Indian and want to watch Indian channels. For this I need to buy another media player which supports YuppTV. Earlier YuppTV used to work on Roku. Some how it not working now a days.
