I had the Roku 3 for years. Upgraded to the 4 so I could get 4K. It's a breeze to use and I like that it is stand alone (Unlike Apple TV). Setup is a tad tedious. I think smaller icons for all the channels would help. Some lists are hundreds long but I can only see a handful at a time forcing me to scroll through page after page to find what I am looking for. These giant icons are not necessary. Smaller icons would fit more on a screen at once.

Best picture ever.

We purchased the Roku 4 to replace our Roku 3. This new player produces the best picture I've ever seen. Everything we watch is clearer. The Roku 3 is a great player but rebooted itself a lot. The Roku 4 is the way to go today. It works as advertised and gives a great picture and great sound at a decent price.

Great Way to Access Video Services

I've had Roku players for years now. Recently received two Roku 4 units as gifts and upgraded an older 2xs and a 3. So far things are going relatively well. One unit had the loud fan problem and I suspect overheated and stopped working - RMA was issued and the unit was replaced. So far so good on the replacement. The other unit has occasional screen freezes but hitting the menu button seems to reset the menu and gets things working again. The search feature that finds video across multiple services is great. Easy access to my Netflix, Hulu, Showtime, and my local Plex setup is great. Haven't used the 4k video feature yet as I don't have a 4k setup yet.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Lip sync issues with 4K videos

Good product other than voice/lip sync issues on 4K videos. Video and words about 1second delay. Frustrating when watching content.

First week... more to follow

Received this as Christmas gift and finally got around to hooking it up yesterday. Some of the comments I read turned out to be true - both negative and positive. First - it is WAY faster than the previous device I was using to stream - a BIG plus. Also, very intuitive interface and remote - mostly. The "ok" button location was a BIG snafu - should be in the middle of the arrows... how did they miss this?
As for the negative - in today's world, it is RIDICULOUS that the fan makes that much noise... forego the fancy box and get proper ventilation in there. Esp w/ the WiFi remote - no one cares what the box looks like... silly mistake. Lastly, the channel buttons should be programmable - another silly mistake. Now I have a button which does nothing since Rdio is gone.... dumb dumb dumb.
I don't ever provide feedback, and am NOT an early adopter at all, but since 4 was the only device with optical audio out (VERY good call), this is where I am.
UPDATE/Week 2: Netflix TV shows have started to freeze at "25%"... Reading online this appears to be a common problem... No fix as yet.

Good but...

Overall, much faster and responsive than my old Roku 2 box. However, I do NOT like that the old "instant replay" button has now been replaced by the "voice search" button.

Great way to stream

I just picked up the Roku 4 a few days ago. I had the 3 prior, but decided to upgrade. The 4 is larger, but more sleek than the 3. It's also processes much faster. It's extremely easy to set up and choose what channels you'd like. I just wish I could pick the channels for the quick access buttons. I don't use 2 out of 4 of the pre-sets. Other than that, I think it's great.
