Say Goodbye to Expensive Cable Packages!

I canceled my cable viewing subscription a couple years ago! I had enough of the skyrocketing package price to end up watching only a handful of channels.Since then I've been pleased with my subscriptions to Netflix and Hulu, that I'd accessed through my Sony DVD player. Now with my Roku 4 all I can say is WOW! I can subscribe watch what I want to watch when I want to watch it! While shopping for my streaming player, I debated between Roku 4 and Amazon Fire. Roku 4 won out for me because: 1) Roku is unbiased concerning my viewing habits, whereas Amazon Fire is geared toward advertising premium content through the Amazon channel. 2) The Roku menu and screen layout is more intuitive and easier to navigate than Amazon Fire. 3) The Roku USB port is ready to go for viewing movies and shows from my own computer library; Amazon Fire can't do that "out of the box".

Received as Christmas gift. I was expecting a vast improvement over the Roku 2XS, but it was essentially the same. There is a digital audio-out that purports to provide 5.1 channel output, but only provides the 2.1 that the Roku XS provided. The video is just as clear, but not clearer.

Bought this around Thanksgiving. The picture quality is great. App functions are limited compared to Smart TV or Blu-ray player apps, but in some cases simpler is better. Over-heating issue causes us to have to unplug the Roku 4 occasionally. Tried many audio + HDMI combinations to get 5.1 sound to work, but so far unable to do so.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased the product from Amazon.com, received it in two days. I read mixed reviews. As of now the Roku 4 is outstanding. Granted, I only have had for four days.

The Roku 4 appears to have problems with my network. Will not allow Plex movies to load completely and Netflix movies take longer to load. There was little to no problem with the 3. So far, I am a bit disappointed. Incidentally, I cannot even hear the fan running, if it is running at all.

Ease of setup great selection of content.

I bought my ROKU 4 a week ago. Overall I am very satisfied with the product. My only problem during setup was selection the resolution. I have a Vizio P652uiB2 which it a 4K tv. During setup the ROKU 4 only let me select 1080 as my resolution. The picture I am getting is very good and I am not disappointed but as more 4K shows become available I will want to get them in 4 K. Much better than Apple TV it replaced.

I bought this to replace my Roku3 and this Version out the box was way way way faster in comparison to the 3. Love my Roku 4!!!
