Full Hd at Long Last

I use Roku to see television with my internet connection. This Roku Four is the best player so far for my use. I like the audio search feature where I speak near the remote and it prints on the screen and finds what I am looking for. The Auto feature for the Audio talked to my Sony Headphone System and Television thru HDMI cables and sect the best audio. For amplifier users it sets correct Dolby or Dts on my amp as well for great listening. And I like that the old remote from Roku 2 days worked without having to learn it. Nice as I'm used to the simpler buttons in the dark. Mine did not come with instructions. Just a simple pictorial showing cable hookup. Great for us who have had Roku for years. But I discovered the audio search feature by accident when I saw my voice appearing on the screen.
Last the feature where smartphone users can see the iPhone screen on the tv is great when I'm in my TV chair. Friends can follo what's going inn and keep up with me. LoL

My 3rd Roku and I love it!

I added this Roku 4 to my 120Hz/60p TV and you can definitely see a difference in picture quality when I stream Netflix, Amazon, and local movies from Plex. This is the 3rd Roku I have in my house and I will never buy another streaming device.

No HDMI handshake issues!

Had a lot of of handshake issues running a Roku 2 through my home theatre AVR - but it hasn't happened once on my Roku 4. I own a Roku 3 as well, and the Roku 4 seems faster, more stable, and the picture even seems a tad sharper. I don't have a 4K TV .... YET ... so I can't comment on that performance. But it's rock solid on 1080 content. The only thing keeping me from awarding 5 stars - sometimes, when scrolling through content, the direction buttons will stick. But overall, I'm very happy with it.

My third Roku is a Roku 4

Content is great, taken advantage of some of the free 3 month trials like Hula. My 4K tv only works at 1080 resolution , it was bought a while ago and doesn't have the special input for up-scaling. Much faster than Roku 3. Use the earphone so do not disturb spouse watching another channel in the next room.

Good with one big Issue

The Roku 4 is great at what it does, but I REALLY hate the fact that you WILL NOT get 5.1 surround sound with an older receiver. This is because there is no 5.1ch DD+ to 5.1ch DD converter in the Roku 4. I would recommend the Roku 4 if you have a receiver capable of decoding Dolby Digital+, but I would not recommend it if you have an older receiver and would be annoyed by the fact that you'll only get 2.0 channel audio.

Bought this to replace a 3hd that was getting glitches and needing rebooted about every other day. Liked the option of the voice search and the remote finder. Both of those functions in my opinion are pretty much useless. Unless the remote is within 6 feet it doesn't work. And the voice search is unreliable and more of a waste of time than what it's worth. For the $$ of this unit I would say DONT!!!

The only reason I bought this product was because the Apple TV 4th Gen. I own does not support 4K UHD. Once my Roku was set up I quickly found my options for entertainment were overwhelmingly improved over the Apple TV 4th Gen. I was happy to find I could stream Sunday afternoon NFL games from the NFL Sunday Ticket app. Apple TV doesn't provide this option. I was happy to find I could stream music from my iPhone through the Roku 4 from the downloadable remote app. Although Apple TV's interface is superior in my opinion, the Roku has more entertainment options that meet my needs.
