Works Flawlessly

I've wanted a Roku for a long time and finally received one this Christmas. It works as I'd hoped. We had "cut the cable," so to speak, in my house years ago with a Smart TV, but the Roku blows away the features of an ordinary Smart TV. My primary concern before receiving the Roku was that it would run hot, overheat and the fan would run loud, because these were the "defects" I'd read in other reviews. This is absolutely false. We have it set on a glass table, and it runs cold and silent; 100% silent; no noise, even in a silent room. Try not setting it on carpet! Just like you don't set a laptop on a pillow on your lap. Ergo, I love it!

Amazingly fast!

I bought the Roku 4 to replace a model 2. The 2 was showing its age and would lock up and self-reboot often. It was also fairly slow to start streaming content from my media server. With the 4, it's like night and day. Streaming content from my media server is nearly instantaneous. The processor upgrade in this unit has made a huge difference!

Im an Apple devote and I also have an Apple TV. This Roku beats it by a fsir bit in terms of channel options (Acorn is my fav) and overall utility.

I have a vacation home in the mountains. Unfortunately, we only have access to DSL. If we wanted to watch a movie we would download using our Apple TV a day in advance. Forget streaming. With Our Roku we can stream watch a movie any time. Would never know that all we had was DSL. Oh and the content is great, the problem now is how do we make a dcision.

This model 4 is the third model Roku I have purchased, owned and used. I own a 55 " high def TV. When my older Roku handheld clicker died I purchased the new Model 4. Initially I was skeptical, once I began to watch, I was extremely satisfied with the new interface and display as well as picture quality and resolution.

My Christmas Roku 4 gift.

I received a new Roku 4 player for my living room T.V. The 4 seems to have a faster and brighter reception than the Roku Stick I had on the T.V. before. The Stick was always on were the 4 (like the 3) does shut down saving on electricity. The only problem so far I see. Twice the 4 has scrolled constantly on a channels content selections. (only happened twice on 5 days). It would be nice to find out how to correct this. Other wise the 4 is nice. Now I have one Roku for each T.V. in the house.
