I bought the Roku 4 a week ago and I am very happy with the RF remote control because my old Roku 2 did not have this feature, which make it easier to control the Roku 4.

Good Bye Cable TV

1st I have to tell everybody that I have an Apple TV but this device is $70 cheaper but great features. lots of free apps and movies, hd is great and really fast. A recomentation should be a way to integrate over the air signal with Roku and avoid the extra step to move from roku to OTA signal.

Pros:
1. Better UI - especially on Netflix, matches their web interface on the PC
2. Better streaming - couldn't use Vudu on the Roku 2. No skipping.
3. Better audio processing - had several movies I watch all the time, and they wouldn't play through Roku from the Media Server - they do now!!
4. Much, much cooler remote!!

It freezes more than the roku 3. Roku needs to have integrated ota recording capabilities since most people buying a roku don't have cable or dvr. The user can provide the hard drive space. Also it would be nice to have a chrome browser

Optimizes Potential of 4K TV

I bought a Sony 4K Bravia TV and discovered that my Roku 3 couldn't display more than 1080P from Netflix Ultra HD video. Very disappointed. Then bought the new Roku 4 and happily found that it processes 4K video very easily. Much happier now, and so glad the Roku 4 was released just two months before my Sony TV purchase. All video is extremely sharp and detailed now.
Although my new Sony TV and Sony 3D Blu-ray DVD player are supposed to upscale all video to 4K, I found that this doesn't really show up in the video quality. The Roku 4 makes this a reality on the videos I stream from Netflix and Amazon Prime Ultra HD.
The Roku 4 works much faster than my old Roku 3, and the Roku 4 remote conveniently has fast access buttons for Netflix and Amazon Prime. Thank you, Roku, for creating such a well-designed and functional streaming device player for all of us who want to upgrade our TVs to 4K. You really made my upgrade decision a sound one!

Amazing quality!

I bought this for my husband's birthday after we upgraded our tv a few months back. We had a Roku 3 with no complaints, but figured why not upgrade to a Roku 4 as well. I'm so glad we did! The difference in the picture quality is amazing. It brings out the best in our tv.

Does not recognize Avi files. Will not acquire movie content info for personal files. Biggest downfall.
