This was a Christmas gift to me. This is very convenient for my Netflix and Amazon Prime. I really like the channels they offer and can't wait for them to bring more on.

Great Picture and Sound

I received the R4 as a gift for Xmas. We got it up and running in a short time. I have a 4K TV and it looked good right away. Good support as well.

I got the Roku 4 for Christmas and it is great! Easy to use and tons of channels for everyone in our family. I can definitely see this helping us eliminate our satellite bill because with Roku you can get it all for a lot less money.

i got this for netflix and free web sites. the initial setup was easy except for the correct sound. i got this because of the s/pdif output. they dont have it perfected yet, my lg blue-ray sound worked perfectly with the same setup. netflix was fast connect. the free stuff wasnt worth the trouble. i loaded pbs and went to their site, who wants to watch 3min clips of a show, wasnt worth the trouble. never tried the pay stuff, but i got rid of directtv because it cost to much. i returned the unit because of the sound issue.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice 4K resolution

Excellent 4K resolution as long as your 4K TV is HDCD compliant otherwise if you are just connecting it to a regular 4K HDMI (not HDCD 2.2 compliant) you will get a blank picture (nothing will comeout). The optical fiber,it really does not code DTS, it always goes to DD (I guess its default). Well if you are not picky with the sound, DD still sound good. Overall the 1080p upconversion is good,
