Great variety of supported apps

I got this for Christmas to add to a second tv. We have a FireTV box on our other tv so I am able to compare them.
Pros:
I like that the Roku supports Google's Play Store, that's missing on FireTV and is the reason I went with Roku this time. It also supports other ecosystems like Amazon Prime, Netflix, Beachbody on Demand, and HBO Now. I use all of those apps and the Roku supports them pretty well. Activating them on the device is a little different than I'm used to. Instead of entering a username and password, many of them ask you to log into a website and enter a registration code. It seems like a pain to need a second device handy to set up your Roku, but this became my preferred method because entering usernames and passwords in Roku is not fun. Over to Cons.
Cons:
First, I don't like the remote control, at all. Entering user information in the Roku is not a good experience. It's slow and the Remote puts the OK button under the navigation cross; it's not in the center of the navigation buttons as with almost any other device on the market. The Back button is in the upper left of the control not next to the OK button, so I find myself clicking the Search button by accident every time I need to backspace. It's not intuitive and I will throw that remote in a box soon for a universal remote.
The on-screen keyboard could help out with some shortcut keys or auto-complete, something, but it doesn't. Plus it changes with every app, so it's not consistent.
Picture quality has been pretty good, although for some reason I can't get it to work in 4K. It keeps giving me an error telling me to plug into a supported HDMI input, even though my receiver and TV both support 4K. This may not be the fault of Roku, but none of my other devices are having an issue. Not sure yet.
The picture quality for Google Play movies seems to be poor compared to other services. I'm not sure why, but it will flicker between really good quality and blurry often. This needs to be fixed as it tends to be blurry more than high quality.
I have to reset the box more often than I'd like. I'm not sure what the issue is, but when I turn on my TV and system, very frequently the input that Roku is on is a black screen. Again, it's the only device in my setup that behaves this way, and I've gone through all the settings on the Roku to try and fix it, but it just needs a good old fashioned reboot every now and again. Changing inputs doesn't fix it.
I like the device and would recommend it. The review seems negative, but I didn't go into detail over the things it does that it's "supposed" to do.

I purchased this product for streaming movies and tv shows after getting rid of cable. I could not be happier with the performance of this product. There is no loss of image quality and the channel options seem to be endless.

Had our new Roku for a few weeks and am so glad we did the upgrade. Te speed of download is amazing and no more "loadings" in the middle of a view.

Got ROKU 4 for Xmas, it works fantastic. I also have 4 other ROKU's and they all work great. Why buy a smart tv? Just get a tv and add ROKU or try to get a tv with ROKU platform. Wonderful product.

I bought the Roku 4 and a 58 inch 4K Ultra TV and it is amazing to watch! The streaming is flawless and the program choices are unbelievable!

I already owned a Roku 3 and was looking for another Roku 3. Instead I received a Roku 4 as a gift. Setup was easy and the unit works as expected. However, I do not own a 4K TV and have no plans to get one. The unit works solidly but if I were to buy another Roku, I would buy another Roku 3; which is exactly what I did for the third TV in my house. Now I own two Roku 3's and one Roku 4.
