Cutting The Cord Was Never So Easy!

Gives me access to the channels that I want but don't get via digital antenna. Music and movies were just an additional feature I like.

Roku 4 sound connectivity

All in all, the unit is good. However, if you want to use it with an external sound system besides the built in (low quality) speakers in your TV, you will need to get an extra device. The only sound output is on the remote control, which you would probably want to keep by your side. To get sound out of the Roku box, you will need to order a separate HDMI sound extractor box to connect to your sound system.
There should also be a speaker jack oh the Roku box itself. Seems like an obvious feature, but it was overlooked.

My Roku experience so far

I have had this box 1 week and so far love it. I have binged on Making a Murderer, tried an Australian series and some other shows. The picture is wonderful, it is very very user friendly. I am 69, somewhat computer savy and set it up myself. I especially LOVE the voice search - say a name of a show/movie/whatever and it finds it; you don't have to remember which app it's in. I have grandchildren and look forward to searching for something to interest them, I am sure it won't be a problem. It has something for everyone.

Great Product When it Works

Got a Roku 4 for Christmas, and was so excited to replace our Roku 2. We set it up, and to our disappointment nothing happened. So we return it, and get a new one sent to us, not problem. However now this one will stop responding to the remote randomly. The only fix is to unplug and plug it back in again. Searching the Roku 4 forums I found that I'm not the only person to have this problem. So far it happened to me twice on day 1, and hasn't happened again in the last 2 days. Some people are having it happen daily.
But, overall, the return policy is easy, and the player itself is great while it's working.

Very nice. elegant design, an alternative to cable, but more Hispanics lack channels.
