I didn't really think I needed a Roku, considering that we already had a smart TV. I bought one to find out what all the fuss is about and use it on one of our dumb TVs. I am also looking to get rid of the DirecTV expense, and wanted to find out how well a Roku 4 would replace DirecTV.
The interface of the Roku 4 is so much nicer than the smart TV's interface that I have the Roku 4 hooked up to the smart TV. I like being able to search by voice for shows and movies across different services (e.g. Amazon, Netflix, etc.)
As soon as my DirecTV contract is up, I plan to ditch that expense and start watching both streamed and over-the-air television.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great device

I have have it for a little over a week and I'm extremely happy with it I am able to watch Netflix and Amazon videos on my tv and it has made it possible. Before I was only able to watch on my iPad so happy I made the move and still learning what's possible. It was very easy to install only wish it would have come with an HDMI cable because I had to wait a day to get one

Great so Far

I brought this 4 days ago and it has worked well so far. The picture and sound is much better and I love the "find the remote" feature. We had Roku 3 for about 2 years but the remote disappeared so that is why we decided to upgrade.

Purchased a Roku 4 when I bought my 4K TV. Setup was super simpler and the content and streaming is amazing. Love the headphone feature on the remote and how the unit slim design fit in nicely with my other components.

I upgraded from a roku 2 had no problem making the change knowing roku makes a great product. Very clear on my 4k TV.

I've had this in use for just over a week. Easy to set up, easy to navigate through the available "channels." The only shortfall is lack of available sport channels.
