Great content sub-par performance so far

Love the amount of streaming apps options specifically Sling TV but after 5 days of use the last two days I have had to unplug it and plug it again to power to get it power on. This is basically my biggest issue with it to not give it a 5 ⭐️ Rating

Great investment

Used to use a Wii, PS3 and a Smart TV for watching movies and TV shows which was always difficult to navigate and was limited to Netflix and hulu. Roku has so many more channels and Sling TV compatible. I plan on buying more Rokus for my other TVs. With a Roku I see no need for a Smart TV which seems to be an outdated technology compared to Roku.

It works and there are lots of apps. But the only apps I use are just the main ones that are on all the devices. It feels glitchy, the remote is the worst part. I'm excited to watch 4K content.

Requires Another Remote for TV Volume

I own a Roku 2 and a Roku 3 with subscriptions to Amazon Prime, Hulu, and Netflix with local media served through Plex. I do not have a cable subscription so the Rokus were used for 100% of my viewing. Needless to say I am a fan of the product line.
Recently I acquired another TV and ordered the Roku 4. When the product arrived there was a big problem that prevented me from adding ANY channels. Turns out the problems were from a temporary interruption in the Roku service and the next day everything worked fine.
I have had zero problems with the device. Performance is smooth and glitch free. No crashes, no freezes, and only a negligible amount of fan noise. The fan is so quiet that if it wasn't for all the early complaints, I wouldn't have even noticed it. I don't own a 4k TV so I can't comment on the extra quality.
The biggest flaw in the Roku system is the remote. It offers a lot of functionality through the voice control but since it cannot control the volume on the TV it is necessary to use a universal remote instead rendering the Roku remote unused. The universal remote is necessary to turn on my TV and control its volume. All the Roku needs is what the new Apple TV 4 has: 1) ability to turn on/off the TV, 2) ability to control the TV volume, or change the volume level it sends through HDMI, 3) integration with Bluetooth speakers.

Easiest way to Access 4K content

I've been seeing Roku evolve and I was waiting for the box that could bring my 4K tv to life and Roku 4 has done just that. The easiest and most simple way to access 4K content across multiple sources. You are no longer stuck with the few apps your tv comes with. Plug and play, no need to know how it works, easy setup and in seconds you have the most awesome 4K quality in your screen. I can't wait to see the 4K library grow.

I have only had the Roku 4 about 1 week but I really like it. My picture seems more clear and it is faster. Some people may not like the size; it is quite a bit bigger but it fits in the holder that I had bought previously for the Roku 3.
