This is the second Roku I have purchased. Great interface, almost unlimited channel options, and 4K capabilities. The other streaming devices fall short in one ore more ways.

I have 2 roku 2 2 roku 3's and my newest roku 4 have used it two times,since I hooked it up on Friday The one thing I was not pleased about was the new size, I l;oved that I could hide the box behind the tv on the walls the new one is thinner and a whole lot larger. Kinda messed me up when I first saw it, have had a while but got it for myself for my birthday and waited until then to open the box. It seems to be pretty much like the 3 It came with earphones I like that as I am watching tv at times when husband is asleep. I like the find my remote feature,and love that the 3 and the 4 both have the pairing button for the remote. Very Happy with my Roku 3 's and 4 seems to be working fantastic so far.Oh and my regular HDMI cord did not hook the 4 roku up had to use a more powerful hdmi cord.

Looks and sounds good, but....

The picture is great and so is the sound. But! Sling tv buffers alot. It is not our internet because it streamed fine on my fire tv.. The problem is now i cant watch sling on that device but only on the roku 4 and no one has been able to resolve the issue.A good point is vudu and amazon movies look really good and never buffer.

First observation was that I don't hear excessive fan noise from the unit that I've read about in other reviews. As with my Roku 3 the Roku 4 set up was a snap and all I really had to do was link the device to my Roku account. The only disappointment and reason for three rather than 5 stars, was the failure to pass TrueHD and DTS-MasterHD audio. Other than this issue, I am completely satisfied.

Problems and more problems.

I am a pretty big fan of Roku in general and I own many Rokus, I have bought over a dozen of the devices over every generation but the first. My Roku 3 experience has generally been very good to excellent with few problems. The Roku 4 was unfortunately not the same experience. Sling TV freezes every 20 minutes or so. This problem is widely reported now for the Roku 4 only. There is a magenta color push on 4k displays through certain devices and HDMI inputs. On my system I can get the problem to go away but when I do I lose 5.1 audio. This issue is just probably the constraints of allowable configurations with my system. Although I have not experienced a lot of issues with this problem from time to time the device does not want to wake up. The Roku 4 will randomly turn on and automatically switch HDMI inputs on the television. Not certain what is going on here. The remote is eating batteries like crazy. Maybe I have a Roku remote control problem that is waking up the Roku? The Roku 4 has a lot of potential to be a great streaming device but as of right now I cannot recommend it to anyone. Too many bugs.
