My neighbor got me in to this, and I'm loving it. I got the Roku4. I love the fact it has a lot of free channels, and the choice to select pay stations at a little cost. I can watch it on my Main TV, my tablet, and my Samsung S6 cell phone. Thanks Roku

This thing is AWASOME! I have 3 Roku Sticks and Had an original Roku player, Apple TV 2nd and 3rd gen and have had a Nexus Player the Roku 4 blows them all away! great picture, buffering is so little in amount that it is almost scary.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Needs work

Coming from the older version of the Roku 3 which was having issues...all my Roku units seem to get issues after a bit over a year but then again they are being used all day all night so that's something to keep in mind. Roku 4 seems to be suffering from young software and for the most part it seems like an easy fix after a few updates. It seems a bit buggy/wonky but sort of work. The biggest issue is with Slingtv. it freezes, quality gets low and needs to be reloaded all the time. It's not my net speed, its super fast and every other app does not have this issue. Slingtv is one of the main selling points for a device like this and for it not to be working well and even working poorly is a huge disapointment. Pays to wait with new tech.

A Few Preps To Observe

After all is said and done I'm very happy with my Roku4. I have it and an Apple TV in my system, and they actually pick up where the other has a weakness so having both means I really can watch ANYTHING I want. Now, just a small piece of advice for your installing pleasure. My installation came to a screeching standstill every time I tried to join either my WiFi or Wired network. It would join immiediately, but no matter the type of connection it could not joint the local network. In the end one of the two things I did fixed the problem. 1st - move the Roku as far away as you can from other networked and WiFi enabled devices (in my case about two feet. And 2nd - I have a large house network and WiFi. My wife works from home several days a week. She's a programmer and requires a strong, dependable and secure home system. Also I have several WiFi enabled home cameras throughout my house. There are also two computers, two iPhones and two iPads on the system at any time. These all feed out of a Motorola Surfboard Cable Modem with 4 Gigabit connections, and new model Apple AirPort Extreme with two Airport Expresses set up to act as system range extenders. There are also two 4-port gigabit switches in the network. So, if you have a similar setup disconnect every device you can from the whole system before you try to set up the Roku. They can be reconnected AFTER the Roku is up and running. It is simply a matter of two many devices preventing the DHCP from assigning the Roku an IP address.

This letter serves to express my sincere appreciation for the outstanding performance of Roku 4 and at an extremely reasonable price. It gives me more entertainment than I could possibly have imagined.
I am enjoying every second of using this amazing streaming player. Roku 4 is the best product Roku has made available on the market. It is easy to set up, use, search and find hundreds of programs not available on any cable or network. I love the clear, brilliant images and sound it brings to my TV. The audio is commendable; I don’t even need speakers!
I had a little trouble setting my Roku 4 to WI FI, but that was soon overcome when calling Roku toll free for guidance.
Thank you again, Roku, for exceeding my expectations of this marvelous, outstanding product Roku 4.

Not quite as user friendly as the 3. It would be nice to see the ability to remove multiple channels at one time at least online, this is a time consuming task. The additional cost for us was found to not be worth the expense. 4k. There is horrible play back shows always freezing,downgrading quality to less than standard def,very choppy. Or the player resetting frequently. On the 3 maybe once every several months would it reset,so far I lost count at reset 15,and it has been less than 1 week set up.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
