Overall I like it after 4 days. I like that I can keep the "home" very tight to just a few channels and services (Netflix, along, etc) that I will actually use. My biggest dislike thus far is that I have to use my phone to start it most every time, and sometimes the remote is unresponsive. That's annoying and Riki really needs to fix that.

Great but needs channel explanations

A great product; looks good,performs great.
My only gripe with Roku is that they should simply state the business model for the available channels. For example:
Channel; 123; free registration required to watch all content
Channel 234; free registration for most content but paid reg for all content
Channel 345; Paid registration required (or satellite/cable provider customer)
Channel 4456; No reg and all free
What would it hurt to tell the customer in advance what it took to watch the channel instead of having to go through each one to find out what is required.
I find this an annoying fault which Roku could alleviate

Not worth the extra money

I bought the roku 4 to upgrade my roku 3, since I do not have a 4k capable tv there was no increased functions. The 4 did not work any better or worse than the 3 or the stick. Bottom line it is not worth the extra money.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Set it up and started watching, then it stopped. Had to return it. I'll wait for the bugs to get worked. Back to the 3.

Great Product

I have had this for a few weeks now, I love it. I love the ease of setting it up and the the layout of the channels. I love the head phone jack, I am hard of hearing this was a great surprise! I streams fast and depending on the internet connection I very rarely buffer. I love how quick it loads and the ease of the whole thing.
What I don't like is that I did away with cable, went to streaming tv, but I still have to have a log in for cable to watch most things like ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX. I wish there was a way to watch these with out signing in, that is why I got the roku! This is why I voted 4 stars.

TV flickers when display is set to 4K.

I have a Samsung 75 inch UHD tv. The picture flicker when the display is set to 4K. It works good if I set it to 1080p. It will show 4K fine on Utube.

An obvious upgrade.

I've owned the 2xs for a number of years and had a love hate relationship with it.
That said the new Roku 4 has taken care of a lot of the hate.
It has a better picture (on HD, and not just on the 4K). It has a soft shut off.(timed or immediate), and the audio seems better to me.
Over all a worthwhile upgrade.
