Great little players

This is the third one I have purchased. I now have one in the bedroom, one in the living room and one for travel. I like the compactness of the Roku 3 but the speed of the Roku 4 is noticeable and the video quality is really good. I don't have a 4k TV to comment on that level of video but I can say I suspect it's good based on all my other experiences with this manufacturer. I should add that it has the smoothest interface for Netflix that I have seen. I have multiple streaming products in my home and hands down the Roku 3 and 4 are the best of the bunch. They also include a bunch of channels. Some you have to pay for and others that are free. Note the free ones usually have commercials attached but they are free. And the new voice search is even better for an old man like me. Buy it, you won't be sorry.

I just purchased a 4kUHD TV and up graded my Ruku to a Ruku4. It is great. I really enjoy it and hope in the future to cut my cable bill in half.

Good Features - Needs Something

Im not sure if this needs more cache or what it needs but after using it a few weeks I am not all that impressed. A quad core processor on a wired cable connection should be much much faster. Wondering how I know? I run corporate servers every day of my life. Its better than wifi, but I expected more. Ive already had to factory reset it once and the feature to turn it off with other devices fails to work on a brand new samsung tv.

I purchased roku3 first. But I just purchased roku4 and the upgrade is phenomenal. The high definition is much better. It is much faster.

Cutting the cord with Roku

It was time to say goodbye to Uverse and finally get rid of cable. I have my PS4 to thank for helping me get to this point. Why have a cable box and DVR when you can just watch your shows on demand?
Anyway, my choice was down to the Roku and Amazon Fire TV. The Amazon player had some spotty reviews and I wasn't that impressed with Amazon's music service, though we are huge Prime fans and like the video service. Also, their player had some spotty reviews, and it's relatively new on the block compared to Roku. So I went with Roku for a few reasons initially- mainly ease of use for my very skeptical spouse, the voice operated search, and the content agnostic channels set up.
I've had 3 Roku 4s in my house now for 2 months and it has been a great experience. I can't believe I waited so long to cut the cord. Sound and video quality are amazing, and the amount of content available on a Roku leaves us wanting for nothing.
Things I would change- The remote has pre-programmed buttons, one is for a channel that no longer exists. The video games aren't great. The PS4 has a better web browser. I had to factory reset one of the players because it wouldn't turn back on.

I love the convenience of the Roku and all the programs I can download on it. I couldn't download daily burn on any other device. Wonderful device. Thanks
