Great but setup still takes too long

We have multiple ROKU devices and each of them gets logged into and connected to our ROKU account as the first step during setup. The new units then load all the apps from our other units, including apps we have deleted from other units and apps we never wanted in the first place, like Showtime and HBO. I wish the process to initially load apps made it possible to copy the apps list and layout from another ROKU. My goal is a consistent experience at every TV in the house. Anyway, I do it the slow and tedious way, by removing all those upsell apps and Roku standard apps and then by rearranging the apps into the order I like.

4K content but at a performance cost.

The addition of 4K content is a welcome one but with it comes stability and heat issues. It was a rarity for my Roku 3 to crash and reset itself back when it was my go to streaming device but with the Roku 4 I've dealt with over five resets within the first week of ownership. I've dealt with crashes and display errors while using the Netflix and Twitch apps (Twitch app is absolute garbage) and major slowdown while browsing videos in Youtube's interface. Also this thing gets incredibly hot. So much so to the point I pulled it out of my entertainment center so it could get more fresh air and turned on the "Run Cooler" function found in the system settings. Even after that it runs uncomfortably warm.
Those issues aside it's still a Roku and comes with the simple interface we've all come to know and love. The new remote finder function is a neat addition. And when it comes down to it this is the only mainstream streaming box that supports 4K content. at 60hz. That said, while the 4K content it pumps out looks gorgeous, the issues you have to deal with make the price tag hard to swallow.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great device; very fast

I bought my Roku 4 a month ago. The setup is so easy a cave man could do it. The interfaces are easy to navigate for the most part. I do wish that the remote had a keyboard on the back, as typing in email and password for Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, etc. accounts is a bit laborious using the arrow buttons and the OK button. Also, the headpone jack built into the remote deceived me. I thought I would be able to plug headphones into the remote and the device would still transmit audio to my TV. It actually mutes the TV when earbuds or headphones are plugged into the remote. I wish the user could choose which action would occur each time the remote headphone jack was used.
I would recommend this to a friend!

we bought this not quite a month ago, very easy to setup (as long as the remote works) Wonder picture and easy to use.

Needs a written instruction booklet

After just 4 days, it is still a learning process which would have been made much easier if there had been an instruction booklet showing all the online steps.

Awesome picture quality

I bought this couple weeks ago. I use Hulu plus and cbs app. The picture is fantastic. Finally I get to enjoy 4K on my tv. Love it
