More powerful processor! Bigger foot print.

I recently purchased the Roku 4 to replace the 3 I had in my main TV viewing area. I like the larger-heavier 4. I use ethernet cables for network service and between it and the HDMI, I could never get the 3 to stay in place or lay flat due to the weight and strain of the cables. The "find remote" feature is a VERY nice addition as I have remote hiders (small children). So far I've noticed faster loading with most apps, and I expect that it will only get better as the app providers release new updates for the 4. The only complaint I have is not about the Roku 4, but my Sling TV app will not work verywell due to the lack of a software update for the Roku 4. Add in the fact that Roku is now 4K compliant, we have a winner!

It was disappointing to find that screen mirroring was still in beta.... and does not work where amazon fire does work. Also... disappointing to find that it is less rewind/relay friendly than its predecessor.

totally new design vastly improved unit

Just received the Roku4 this week, very simple to install be prepared for a huge difference in video quality, fantastic on this unit, compares to a high end Blu-ray player. The new design is a larger footprint but much thinner unit, new features include a lost remote finder that actually works .
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice but Anynet+ doesn't work with Samsung TV

The Anynet+ connection between our new Samsung TV and the Roku 4 doesn't work. Basically means I can't control the Roku 4 via the Samsung TV remote. Not a huge problem but would have been nice if it worked.

I bought this a few months ago and have put up with it's failings for far to long. Right from the start it was extremely painful process to stream things from my other devices to this Roku 4, in part because the apps I used to stream with on my Roku 3, weren't available on the Roku 4.
The next thing this device started doing was over heating, to the point that Netflix text and graphics would not display when you were in this app. I even had the check box checked for this device to run cooler and it made zero difference in it's cooling performance. As a matter of fact, it appears to do nothing, no fans would come on and it appears that this device is passively cooled.
I actually went out and bought a new Roku 3 to replace this boat anchor... Good riddance! I would not recommend this product for an upgrade or outright first time purchase. Stick to the Roku 3 you will be much happier.

How about fixing it?

Will not wake up from some kind of sleep regardless of energy saving setting, screensaver, etc. Have to either unplug or press remote finder button which then causes a reboot. This is the second unit i have tried, returned first. Check out your forums, there are MANY people with this same issue that has been going on since inception. Google search for "rook 4 will not wake up".. How about a REAL firmware fix?
