The device itself is a vast improvement over the Roku 3. The 4K picture quality is excellent. It will run hot so I set it to shut down after 30 minutes of inactivity. The only complaint I have is the remote. Then that just involves the placement of the preset channel buttons. I find that I frequently push one of them by mistake and end up having to refind what I was watching.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I try the others like chromecast and firestick but is to Manny steps before I can get to the movies or shows, but with roku4 is like part of the TV just turn the TV chose your app and watch right away. Even better and faster than my smart TV apps

optical audio out only does stereo on my Lexicon

Very disappointed that can only get stereo on optical out. Without surround sound the 4K material is not worth it. The picture on Netflix 4K looked great.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We are a Roku believing family! Instead of spending 50-150$ in cable fees a month, and not having a thing to watch, we enjoy our money. I recommend Roku to everyone I meet.

roku 4 is bigger , better and flatter

I have the roku 2 , 3 and recently bought the 4 . Roku 4 is bigger in size than the 2 and 3 and also flatter and eyes better than the 2 and 3 versions . With the new 4K smart tv's you can now stream 4K video for great video with Roku 4 , it also features a Toslink digital audio out to hook up to your a/v receiver for great sound . I am very impressed with the Roku 4 and think it's the best streaming device available today .

I bought the Roku 4 this past weekend and I made wrong choice by getting cable instead of Roku. I absolutely love it and the features on it are amazing, and the HD on it is way better the cable HD
