Fast but really hot

Overall the device functions fine. However it gets so hot I can't set it on a shelf or it will overheat. I currently have it elevated with airflow all around it so it doesn't lock up.
The voice search feature is pretty cool!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great device, decent apps

The device itself is fantastic. It is small, quiet, and has a great selection of apps. That is where it can fall a bit short. I understand Roku does not develop the apps themselves but certain apps are in desperate need of updating and optimizing. The Spotify app is insanely outdated and bad. YouTube tried to show me 4K content on my 1080p tv and it stuttered and froze. There were no quality selection settings to just choose 1080p instead it tried to go back and forth between 4K and 1080p. The search across multiple services is handy. I like being able to see which apps have a movie for free or if it's available at all with just one search as opposed to having to check each app. Lastly the voice search. It is amazing but I WISH it would work INSIDE of an app instead of only being used as a global search.

I have heard about roku for years I am excited to be able to lower my tv watching cost. I love that this version has voice activation
