I got this a gift two weeks ago, and all of the features are wonderful my only complaints are that youtube in 4k crashes, and the 4k channel doesn't work.

I bought the XD Roku when it first came out. I bought it to use with my antennae TV to replace cable. Then a few years later, I bought the HD Roku, now I have the Roku 4. I could tell a difference with between the XD and the HD although it wasn't a huge difference. With the Roku 4, I can tell a HUGE difference! I have a 4k UHD television and broke down and got cable with some HD channels, so I do have something to compare the quality of the picture to. Even with all the channels I get with cable, I refuse to give up my Roku. The Roku 4 definitely makes watching movies and some TV programs much more enjoyable.

This is my third Roku, so obviously I am a fan. I love how easy it is to use. Very user-friendly. I tried other devices, but this one is easy to set up and use. Even the picture quality seems better than it did through my ex-provider's device. If there is one thing I would like different, it's the remote. I would love to control the on/off switch for the TV and the volume control through the remote. I still have keep both remotes close by. But still worth the investment.

We bought this because it was time to retire my dated Roku 1. I am so happy with this product it is so simple to use and very easy to set up!!! This unit doesn't take barely any power at all and is just so easy to use. The remote with the reset channel buttons are fantastic! As well as the easiness to navigate through the channels and search for new ones!!! Love this device and will continue to use!

My Roku 4

I had concerns on purchasing the 4 after reading mixed reviews in particular the fan noise and it running hot. I have had the 4 for about 3 weeks and I am more than happy with it. It does not run hot and I have not experienced the fan noise which other raters have mentioned. This is my 3 Roku as I have a 1 and an MHL Purple Stick. This one is by far the fastest and I love the voice search, which is amazing. The one negative, and it is just a pet peeve of mine, is I don't like the earbuds, they won't stay in my ears, but other than that, I love my 4.

Nice But Missing Features I Liked in the Roku 3

I have several Roku 3's. The Roku 4 I bought is much larger in size. The 3's actually hang on the back of my TVs out of sight. It is slightly faster by observance and I have not tried it on a 4k tv yet, but it really is not much different than the 3 except for that feature. The remote really frustrated me. It is cheaper in feel and the buttons are shallow, but mainly it is missing the 10 second rewind button which we use extensively and is needed for streaming. They put a search button there instead which we rarely use.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
