The unit met all expectations. The user's manual was very skimpy on info. I should be expanded a bit with the non-tech user in mind. The online manual was just slightly better.

Great Clear Picture

I bought a Roku 4 to replace a Roku 3 (that is now in use on the bedroom TV). I have a UHD TV and wanted a better picture and the ability to stream 4K content and the Roku 4 fit my needs. So far it has worked flawlessly. The picture is greatly improved over the Roku 3 thanks to the built in upscale to 4K function in the Roku 4.

Pointless Upgrade

What is the purpose of switching from the low powered Roku 3 to the high power, heat generating, multicore Roku 4? The Roku 4 is actually a bit slower and overheats regularly. Multicore proc for what? Games? The same sad, pathetic excuse for a game library as the predecessor and all the same channels. Get the Roku 3 because the 4 just plain sucks.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good Product but it needs improvement

As a new user of the ROKU 4 unit I found it cumbersome to almost always during a search have to move it backwards after a search forward.
For example, if you are searching forward to skip a commercial and the next frame displayed is already in the program you want to resume watching, the system should automatically move its pointer back 3-5 seconds, depending upon the speed of search forward used. Currently, we have to back it off to position the streaming correctly. So, 2 (two) functions are required from the user to position the streaming at the point you want.
For example, if you are searching forward to skip a commercial and the next frame displayed is already in the program you want to resume watching, the system should automatically move its pointer back 3-5 seconds, depending upon the speed of search forward used. Currently, we have to back it off to position the streaming correctly. So, 2 (two) functions are required from the user to position the streaming at the point you want.

In Comparison to other streaming services, by far the best, easiest to navigate, clear and concise set up and intructions, by far the best. Including AppleTV
