It is nice for me, to have all the streaming possibilities in a nice package like the Roku 4. I like the talk to search feature. I would like to see the player update all content automatically, instead of having to filter down thru the settings option to update the apps. Also, I use Netflix mostly, and the wording in the actual app gets garbled or unrecognizable with other characters. It is annoying, and I have to restart several time to get it corrected. But other wise, I thoroughly enjoy this device.

The roku player is easy to set up and use. Searches are fast and the streaming is flawless although my roku is connected via Ethernet.
A few minor issues:
Digital audio for many streaming services is Dolby Digital Plus, which is a newer format that might not be compatible with some older home theater receivers.
Several streaming services are not available on the roku.
And there is no support for Kodi. Please add support for Kodi.

Fast, but had some issues

My first ROKU 4 arrived and I set it up according to directions. First thing I noticed was it made a noticeable humming noise. It also ran very warm. The next thing was it would not come out of "sleep mode" even when I turned sleep mode off. To get it to start streaming I would have to shut it off and back on. I worked with ROKU tech support and finally got them to send me a replacement (I say "finally" because it took about 6 emails going back and forth before they would ship me the replacement and I had to send them the bad unit first). The replacement unit works fine, it makes a slight noise and is barely warm and comes out of sleep like it should. So my rating of this model is a combination of the 2 units I had. Just to let all of you know that a very noticeable hum and very warm and not coming out of sleep mode is NOT normal and you should email their support right away.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
