Very Good Device

I recently replaced my Roku 3 with this Roku 4. I do not have a 4k television, but plan to get one soon. There are a few things I liked better about the Roku 3. If you have a 4k or plan to get one, this is the device for you. I gave it 4 stars because I give my Roku 3 five stars.

I mean, basically same/same. UI is ripe for an upgrade. Bought this unit for the 4K capabilities. Voice search is nice. Seriously, update the UI, guys.

Had a Roku XS.. Love the channel selection.. Power brick died.. Now i have the 4 and it is a working great.. May be time to cut the cable.

Owned about one month. You can find free content, but I chose to add a Hulu acct and CBS. I would recommend to anyone who wants to ditch their cable company. I will probably add a antenna for live local tv

Amazing what failures we will put up with.

Love the roku. But it is amazing what failures we will put up with. Keeps rebooting and freezing, sound dropping out. just like the First and second generation ROKU's when we first got them. Still no way to seamlessly pull local digital TV through the ROKU. National broadcasts are still annoying sound bite short-clips.

Simple, Powerful and a Pleasure to Use!

So Happy with our decision to dive into the Roku pool of on-demand media!
Having to use Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime, etc with a PS3 or a Blu-ray player I dreaded having to go through the hassle of constant updates (PS3) or digging down through menus to get to access the apps. Discussions with Family and Friends I finally gave in and bought a Roku 3.
I was blown away at the ease of use and the available channels/content! I was sold and immediately bought a Roku 4 for my Home Theater (the 3 is in my wife's office).
The bonus is that the remote is an IP device and can talk to apps in my iPhone. The small Roku remote is extremely easy to use but some buttons are hard to see in the dark. Using the App allows me to see the same controls on a lit phone screen, although I find as I become more acquainted with the buttons by feel I use the phone app less and less.
The only negatives are that some channels require subscription but there are so many channels to choose from it's not an issue.
