Love my Roku 4!

Was able to watch the superbowl last night on my Roku in 1080p glory without having a cable subscription. Only request that I have is to please get AMC to provide an independent channel on the Roku. Also would be cool if the volume buttons on the remote transmitted CEC commands to TV over HDMI to control volume of your TV directly without a different remote. I also had issues initially with getting it to connect to my wifi network and then after it connected successfully, had issues getting the Roku iphone app to see the Roku 4 on my network. After a few resets of the roku and pinging the box from my laptop, I was able to successfully get everything working. Not sure why there were issues initially. I don't have any other wifi issues with other devices.

Roku 4 Does it Right!

Of course I wish it were a little cheaper but so far, so good. I'm really pleased with the quality of it. It is wider but much thinner and fits into my cabinet of other electronics quite nicely. Of course the core of it is really pretty similar to the Roku 3 but I really like how smooth it works. It seems to be faster and the picture and audio quality are excellent. I don't have a 4k TV yet but I will soon and I'm glad to have something that is compatible. As always, my favorite is the remote with the built-in headphones. What a fantastic idea since now my daughter can watch all of her favorite shows on the big TV and plug in with headphones. I also like the new buttons for switching to Netflix or Amazon, etc. faster. And the voice search is awesome as well. Roku continues to do it right. They obviously listen to what their customers want. Great job!!!

Easy setup

I've had this for less than a week now so I can my review is very limited to say the least. Setup was a breeze. I don't see how Roku could have made it easier. The few apps I do use require nothing more than entering in a passcode that appears on the TV screen and using it on a desktop PC to validate. I use the PLEX app to stream my vacation home movies. This required going to the PLEX website and downloading the media server application, which was very simple and straightforward. Once my cable subscription ends I plan on subscribing to Amazon Prime and/or Hulu. I choose the Roku 4 so that when I do eventually get a 4K TV (sometime this year) I can enjoy the 4k video. I choose the Roku 4 over the Amazon Fire TV for it's 4K streaming at 60 fps (frames/second) over Amazon's 30 fps. So far I have no complaints and its too early for me to make any suggestions on what Roku can do to improve the Roku 4.

It's ok (troubles)

I bought this literally not even a week ago. I believe it isn't worth the money. I had the first one, and it worked great up to the point where it did not want to connect to my wifi anymore. No biggie, so I went and bought a new one thinking it was just out dated. No luck. It over heated. And now won't turn on.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My Roku is the heart of my entertainment setup. I recently decided to upgrade to a 4. The difference is amazing! So fast, such a detailed picture. If you were waiting to upgrade, STOP THE WAIT! Just do it.

Do not buy the Roku 4 You will be disappointed

I own Roku 3, Roku 2, and Roku stick. I purchased a Roku 4 for my new 4K 60" TV and it is terrible. Screen flicker causes disruption in viewing content. The Roku 4 also turns off and has to be manually unplugged to get it to turn back on. This is the worst roku yet. Do not buy Roku 4, you will be terribly disappointed.

I've only had it a few days haven't had time to really enjoy it but it's been freezing up and cutting off the app am in and going back to home not sure if it's the net or Ruko but I'll be sure to write another review once I've had time to actually spend with it
