Works well.... sometimes

I really like all the apps available, but it sometimes doesn't start by itself, so it has to be reset. In those cases, the Roku app on my Samsung tablet says, "the Roku service is not available".
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great device

The only thing I'm unhappy about is it does not control the tv volume and the wifi connection space is lagging I have a tcl Roku tv and its wifi connection is great so please Improve and my friend has a Roku 3 and it has gyro games such as angry birds and this does not, other than that it's great! Nice picture and good price!

Smarter than average.

I bought a 4K LG OLED Smart TV and needed something to ring in 4K streaming. I gave my Roku 3 to my son. The LG can stream Netflix and Youtube 4K but will not pick up live CBS All Access or other content. My OTA antenna garbles the CBS channel some 90 miles away. (During the Superbowl) The picture quality seems to be as good as OTA. It is a good investment. The only problem was my surround sound kicked off constantly during Roku usage. I finally fixed that by moving the Roku a few more feet from the tuner/amplifier. That's a FCC radio thing.

LOTS TO LOOK AT

I just bought this about a week ago so I am still on my learning curve. One complaint, common to many items today, is that it doesn't come with guidance in writing, just a hook-up diagram with no words, barely enough to install from. It comes with an optical audio cable. I have no idea what that is for. I know there is a website but that isn't always handy. I am one of a growing number of people who have "cut the cord" from a cable service that was charging me $120 EVERY MONTH for my TV service. These newer options give me plenty of choices along with an HD antenna for local channels.

Noisy. Damaged the first week

Nice 4k features. But noisy. The first week the power adapter failed. Waiting for a new one

Really like the 4, I have the stick and the 2 and this is much faster.
My only complaint is the RDIO button on the remote. This service was discontinued and yet still receives a dedicated button? Can we get a fix?

Going to keep this short and sweet. LOVE my ROKU, the features, the company, the support, etc! Can't get any better! Now with just a tv antenna for local channel, Netflix, HULU & so many other choices, who needs high dollar tv service!

Best Device for using VUDU

I purchased the Roku 4 after converting my Blu-Ray collection to VUDU. The VUDU app on my TV (Samsung) converts the audio down to Dolby 5.1. VUDU offers Dolby digital plus 5.1 and now movies in 7.1. The Roku 4 allows me to use the surround sound options. Extremely to set up and use.
