Sleep Mode Glitch

This is a really cool product that performs, for the most part, as advertised. There is just one problem. The device goes into some sort of sleep mode when inactive and cannot be resuscitated with the remote. I've looked online for assistance and found that I am not the only one with the problem (lots of entries in the user forums). The only way to get the Roku to respond once it goes into this sleep mode is to cycle the power (pull the power cord and reinsert it). Not much fun.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not Ready for Primetime

If you want a Roku with 4K, but aren't a stickler for picture quality and sound quality, go for it. It's a fine investment. But the Roku 4 doesn't interface with all A/V setups as easily as it should. I've spent nearly 10 hours on the phone with Netflix, my ISP, and Roku trying to figure out why the unit will not deliver 4K content through my A/V setup which includes all the requisite Internet speeds, HDMI 2.0 ports, HDCP 2.2 handshakes, etc.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is the 5th Roku I have owned so I new what I was getting when I purchased it. I specifically wanted the Roku 4 for the 4k content. The only complaint that I have is while it is thinner than previous Rokus, it is probably about 3x the size of the roku 3. That was a little disappointing. It is very fast and everything works great on it.

Great player, with one drawback on a Samsung tv

I love the Roku4, it did everything I expected. Great variety of streaming channels with great picture quality.
HOWEVER, and this had already become a big annoyance, this player is not compatible with my Samsung tv's Anynet+ connectivity. I wouldn't mind so much if it just didn't work (although I bought the unit expecting it would), but every time I change inputs, to OR from the Roku4, I get a pop-up on my tv saying it couldn't connect to Anynet+. I have to use my tv remote to close the message, or else it never goes away. I have done some research since my purchase and this appears to be a widespread problem with this model.
Please fix this Roku! I will be happy to update my review to 5 stars when this is corrected.

This is our third Roku player and our favorite so far (the others are a Roku 2 & 3). It's quicker and the remote is more user friendly. The unit itself is larger than our other two, but still compact. It's super simple to set up and link to a Roku account. We are marginally comfortable with streaming technology, but very comfortable with using Roku.

Excellent Product

This is our third Roku used in our house. We ditched cable a few years ago and have had great success with the Roku 3 and Roku 4. It is easy to use, setup and navigate. We use our smart devices to control from anywhere. Would highly suggest especially if you are tired of the outrages cost of cable/satellite.
