Better than Apple TV

I originally purchased an Apple TV and didn't realize it was a closed source. Roku, being open source, is the best and most reasonably priced I've found. Very happy.

Fantastic upgrade

I bought this to upgrade from a roku 2 as my roku 2 kept resetting on it own and was very frustrating. Its been a great decision. The pictures on this roku 4 are sharper and the system is faster. I have not had it reset at all which is why I upgraded. Great system features, easy to install, hours and hours of TV watching at your finger tips. I would recommend it.

This is the best Roku device yet. It buffers very fast on both an N and B/G wifi network (@300mbs and 150mbs settings) . This quad-core Roku also is very responsive from a GUI standpoint. A big selling point that should be noted is the inclusion of optical audio for those who need to push surround sound through and older receiver. It even includes a set of earbuds for the phono jack located on the remote, which is a nice touch. Overall, an easy to recommend upgrade for those moving on from a series 2 or 3 and easily better than the competition.

Great Unit!

I received this my Roku 4 on April 29th and am still exploring its features and channels. With the thousands of channels it has it's a process to find the ones I like/want but I'm looking, which is kind of fun in its own right. So far, So good. I have Netflix, Amazon Prime, Levin TV and The Blaze that I already subscribe to. It was no problem getting them signed into the Roku and they look a heck of a lot better on the TV than on the computer! I've already told my friends and relatives about it and some said they'd look into getting one also. The question about how I watch TV Entertainment I clicked Satellite or Cable because that's what I just cancelled. My TV is now powered by my Roku 4 totally.

Digital sound adapter is a plus

I bought it three weeks ago and had nothing but continuous restart issues. I had to unplug it at least once if not three times each week to reset. One of those times I even had to enter my internet password and username...meaning the first time at set up was not enough. What a pain. Some of my answers below will not be fair to Roku because I returned the product before giving it any more attention. One last issue was the channel selection process takes to long for the buffering to move to the next channel.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not too different from Roku 3

I bought Roku 4 after purchasing my first 4K tv. With honesty I can say that 4K content does not look much different than HD. Also OTA signal looks clearly nicer than the stream coming from my new Roku. I do not recommend upgrading your current Roku unit, but if you are in the market and don't have any streamer, I would get this one.

Easy navigation, Great 4K picture. The unit does run a little warm but the main problem is that there is a "Flicker" or "Flashing" on the screen during 4K streaming. (especially with Netflix and Vudu) It lasts less than a second each time it does it but it's very annoying. If not for that it rates 5 Stars easy. (It would be hard to recommend this to a friend until this issue is fixed)
