I bought this one day, and took it back the next. when it works, it is great. I have a 4k t.v. and I really noticed the difference with the picture. the Roku 4 has some bugs that need to be fixed. the device freezes up and has to be unplugged to re-boot. I tried using it both with Wi-Fi and an Ethernet cable. same thing happens.
also the cooling fan makes a lot of noise. don't buy this until the bugs are fixed.

I wish I knew or heard of the ROKU before I spent money having new cable outlets installed in our home. Our main TV is situated in a manner where it is difficult to get cable to. I tried a wireless cable solution, but the reception was not very reliable. I called our cable provider and the awesome serviceman recommended the ROKU. We now have 3 ROKUs and I'm returning the cable boxes today!

It's a good unit..nice platform,.only thing negative about it, is it gets extremely hot even when unit is off..also would be nice to have a feature on remote to control tv also an a volume button..

Way better than streaming from a CPU

The amount of content is unbelievable. I have my roku 4 hooked up through the WiFi and it works flawlessly. Very simple and intuitive remote with RF is a breeze to navigate around the menus. You don't have to point the remote at the unit. This makes it really nice with the headphone feature you can walk to the kitchen and still hear the program you were watching. Very cool. The remote is also the game controller so that explains why the layout is pretty easy to feel your way around the buttons. The vast selection of streaming channels is what really pushes the rating to a perfect 5! Highly recommend!

Have finally had this a couple of months and have used it both for regular streaming and 4K streaming (LG 65" OLED). Works better than any smart tv I've come across. This is my second ROKU, which I now use when traveling.

4k picture, 5.1 sound.

I have had my Roku 4 several months and added 3 Roku Sticks. The 4 is connected to a 4k tv with a surround sound AV system. The picture is 4k when available and the 1080p picture beats my previous cable 1080i hands down. Whenever 5.1 sound is available I get that too.
4 stars because of the audio. Amazon and Netflix apps are 2.1 sound only BUT on the same native apps on my TV they are 5.1. HBO and Vudu are both 5.1 via Roku.

I'm cutting the cord from cable and bought this so I could continue to watch movies, etc. This little box is quick and the picture quality is outstanding. I bought my daughter the first generation Roku and this one is lightening fast. Don't waste anymore money on cable. Buy one of these!
