I am now able to disable one of two directTV contracts and have add'l flexibility with viewing programming anywhere with slingbox and roku!

Best device for viewing movies from a streaming device, does 4K (HDMI) when apps support it (need good connection), and has quad core CPU. #1.

I had a Roku 3 that I purchased at the earlier part of this year. Then I purchased a Samsung 4K Ultra TV. The Roku 3 does not support that resolution but the Roku 4 does. (Roku chat people need more experience with knowing their product). So far all has worked well. Am very happy with my purchase.

I have now bought 3 of these. Much faster than the Roku Sticks, both the 3500 or the 3600. I do wish you had placed more information about adding micro SD cards, that I believe also made them run smoother. I think if the "OK" button was in the middle of the 4-way that might have been better. I set up using Ethernet in lieu of wireless.

Great Product but with Poor Factory Warranty

I purchased my Roku 4 after having purchased 2 Roku 3's. I would not have had to purchase the 2nd Roku 3, if the factory warranty was not so poor. The first Roku 3 died just after the factory warranty, so I was forced to purchase another one. I did so because it is a good product. I now only purchase Roku products with the optional extended warranty periods, as I can no longer afford to keep purchasing products with short warranty periods. Now, if you waited this long wondering, you are correct, if the product was made with a better quality, OR had a better factory warranty period allowing free replacement for defective units, then you would not have to purchase an aftermarket extended warranty now, would you? Thanks for reading to the end!

I previously owned the ROKU USB stick and it worked great. The ROKU 4 is even better. I wanted to be able to use a direct ethernet connection instead of Wi-Fi. The ROKU 4 is fast and with the direct ethernet connection buffering has been eliminated when streaming content. I also really enjoy the voice activated search, it makes it extremely easy to find stuff. I use the privacy headphone jack on the remote when I want to watch but not disturb anyone else. Great product and if I ever upgrade to a 4HDTV, I'm already set.

Good enough to purchase

It should play 4K videos without plex transcoding. Rokuplay does not support 4K videos saying that "codec not supported". For plex a powerfull computer should always work. Remote control does not on/off button for power. There is no itunes or spotfy.

I am 70 and very nervous about cutting the cord, learning something so new, but my Roku made it easy. I love it and I'm saving $100 per month!
