I recommend that if you are looking for a streaming device, buy this one. I read other reviews before I bought this, I could answer all the complaints, because I tried to make my unit do what they complained of and it did as advertised.

We have a 4K tv and were worried that the Roku 4 wouldn't be a 4K quality picture. We were pleasantly surprised. Bye, bye cable!

Amazing Picture quality, and sound, no buffering at all compared to the Roku 2 XS that the Roku 4 replaced.. also a very nice feature to that it remembered my Channels from my previous Roku, and loaded flawlessly...

Great until it overheats.

This is my fourth Roku and the first I'm disappointed in. For the first few months it was fine but now it's at the point where I only plug it in when I want to use it to keep it from overheating a day failing. If I leave it plugged in all day, it's shockingly hot to the touch and the video signal isn't present. The only solution is to unplug it and use another device to watch streaming video while it cools down.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The remote control sucks

The Roku 4 itself is fine but the Roku 4 remote control is worse than the Roku 3 control, mainly because it lacks the 10-second-back button. Hitting Rewind goes backwards so fast that you go back several minutes and its hard to go back a minute or less. With the Roku 3 it was easy to back a few seconds to catch a missed line or see something that just happened again, but with the Roku 4 its a pain. It seems like a trivial little thing but it actually impacts my user experience because I used to use the 10-second-back button on Roku 3 frequently. Also, the Netflix, Amazon, Rdio, and Sling buttons on the Roku 4 remote control are useless and take up space that could be used for better buttons, like the 10-second-back button. I sincerely hope you bring back that button for the Roku 5.
