Dissapointing

RC doesn't have a on/off switch or a volume control. You will need your TV remote to turn your TV on and off and control volume level. Manual says that Roku 4 can turn TV on and off or be turn on/off when TV goes on/off, but it doesn't work. Software is very buggy to say the least. And beware, 4K content will make this unit very hot and cooling fan is very loud, plus also know that 4K video will consume about 4 times more data than 1080P transmission, and ips companies are limiting data to 300 GB monthly and charging a lot for more thereafter. If this situation continues, 4K will never be popular. Buy the new Roku Stick instead.

Audio-Video Synch Issues

My major complaint with my new Roku 4 concerns audio-visual synch problems. Regardless of the channel, I felt as if I was watching a dubbed foreign movie. Lip movements were out-of-synch with the video. I have never experienced this problem with my Roku 3.
The Roku 4 runs relatively hot but quiet. No fan noise as reported with some earlier versions.
I like the voice search function of the Roku 4 remote. I used it numerous times flawlessly. Nice function. I do, however, miss the five-second repeat button. This very useful function has been replaced by four large proprietorial Netflix, Amazon, Rdio and Sling buttons which I found minimally helpful. Bring back the five-second repeat button please.
In conclusion, I am returning my Roku 4. I simply cannot accept the audio-visual synch issues.

Yes it is faster then a Roku 3. Yes it has a better picture then a Roku 3. Yes it has a better remote then the Roku 3. Yes it runs a lot hotter then Roku 3. Yes it will lockup a lot requiring a the power cord to be pulled to reset unit. I think there are a few things causing the unit to lockup the first is the hardware it runs hot just sitting on the home screen and the unit will lockup. I do not know who writes the YouTube channel app but as of 7/8/2016 this app seems to cause the unit to lockup a lot.

it woks great but for me Roku stick 2016 is good enough.. because there is no 4K broadcasting TV Chanel and most of the Chanel have to subscribe and pay..for example If I want to see ESPN it not going to work to make it work you must have cable box or satellite dish network...etc if I have to get cable box to watch ESPN why should I use ROKU to watch ESPN..but I am happy with Roku Stick Model 3600R why wasting money for Roku 4.

Fast, friendly user interface 4K and remote finder with headphones. Just one problem, the remote control batteries drains to, to fast. Leaving the remote upside down is a way to circumvent this little issue but it is annoying because the entirely product is great but the most important piece of this product has this annoying issue.

I have to power cycle this pretty often

I bought my Roku 4 about a month ago and the quality is nowhere near what I expect. I've owned three previous Rokus and they were just magical: Plug them in, less than five minutes of setup, and then never think about them again. So far I've had: * The netflix app wouldn't let me click on anything, but other apps worked. Power cycling fixed it. * Vudu refused to stream any movies when other apps worked fine. Power cycling fixed it. * Amazon app refused to load the catalog. Other apps worked fine. Power cycling fixed it.
This product feels like it was rushed out the door. We haven't had any problems in the last week, which is why we haven't returned it. Otherwise we'd already decided that the next failure would be the last.

Shuts down alot

For a few days after setting up the Roku 4, it would shut down on its own, and reset. Now, it does it on occasion. Sometimes, when it sits on the home page for a period of time, the controller buttons won't work.

Good but some issues

When I originally tried to install this device, it would not work for some reason. I was able to get it to work after doing a hard reset using the reset button located on the bottom of the device. My second issue is that this device gets rather warm. There doesn't seam to be a cooling fan on the processor. And third there is no off button, the device simply goes into a standby mode. The device remains warm when not in use. Other than these somewhat minor issues, this device is a wonderful addition to my home theater.
