Hundreds of free channels, limited remote

I love the hundreds of free channels. Plus the thousands of options for pay channels. Cable on steroids except I get what I WANT, not what they force me to have AND pay for. Plus I own this Roku 4 forever. Only downside is the remote could definitely have more options for buttons. However, the earbuds plugin on the side of the remote is GENIUS. LOVE THIS DEVICE. MUST BUY.

Got rid of Directv and am glad. Good riddance to bad rubbish and am extremely happy with the ROKU 4.

Great features, occasional operating issues

I would have rated this unit with five stars had it been based on visual performance alone, had some other issues not materialized.
For the first few days, the unit would seem to freeze up. I discovered that turning off the "Screensaver" setting cured this.
On occasion, the unit will freeze, requiring a restart, but not as frequently as when I first purchased the unit.
The picture is wonderful and the processing seems faster than the Roku 3. I am happy that I purchased this unit, and I would not go back to the Roku 3, for the following reasons:
1. Roku 4 presents a better 1080p experience. 1080p presents more crisp and detailed image processing whereas the Roku 3 suffers from having a lot of artifacting or smudged images. The Roku 4, by contrast, does not suffer from this shortcoming and therefore produces more clear images when the source material is 1080p (almost looks as good as 4K!).
2. Processor makes for quicker operating speeds in navigating and in calling up videos; there is little lag time as compared to the Roku 3.
3. Remote has been upgraded and the quick buttons are helpful to get to Netflix quickly.

Last month, I bought a 60-mile HD antenna and dvr to cover the local channel needs, then returned my "rented" cable tv equipment and shut off my cable tv subscription. I left my internet as-is. I then supplemented with the Roku device to provide tv and movie streamed content to watch when I want to using the following apps: Netflix, Amazon, HBO Now, Hulu, and Sling TV! Having this ability is AWESOME! I am saving close to a $1,000 per year!

I have the Roku 3 and 4. Both are user friendly. We use ours everyday with no "glitches."
