Not worth it.

I have roku 3 and decided to upgrade to 4. Not major upgrade from 3. I'm returning 4 today.

Nice overall but fast forward is just kinda bad

They player is great. Have not used all the new features yet but am disappointed with the fast forwarding. It is slower than slow and does not show you where you are while in the fast forward process.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this for 4K but every time I put it in 4K I have to keep updating it before I can watch it if I don't update it then when I'm watching movies on vudu or Amazon it washes the colors out and the letterboxes are greyed out.

As far as I can see it much the same as my Roku 3 in basic picture quality and overall features. But this thing is HOT enough to cook pancakes on or keep your coffee warm enough to satisfy you all day long. O and I hear it running when everything is quite. Keep your invoice handy just in case it fails do to burnt our fatigue.

Cut the cord and get ROKU!

i cut my cable got an antenna and roku and after a month i wonder why i didnt cut the cord years ago. after reading reviews on amazon tv, apple tv, chromecast and roku i decided on ROKU 4 and it works fast no hiccups (my internet speed is 100mb) to the point i purchased a second as i own 3 tvs, the third i will buy after holidays.
only negative i would like to see an apt for roku from AMC, Cinemax and Cartoon Network as those are ones not available other than that...Happy Happy Happy.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Worst ROKU yet

Bought this in parallel with a new Samsung 4K TV. Startup was easy - but right after start-up the fan came on... and never turned off. After 24 hours I couldn't stand the loudness of the fan anymore and had to unplug the Roku. Its so loud I have to turn up the TV over it - any 3 people that came over asked "what is that loud noise". I wouldn't recommend the Roku 4 to anyone. Yes - I've read the bulletin - but expected ALL defective products would have been pulled from the shelf as opposed to having to deal with customer service which will take up too much of my time. This Roku is going straight back to the store. Roku should have pulled the product and fixed it rather than having the customer play russian roulette as to "is this a good one" and then having to take all their time to do a formal supplier return and go without the product for the duration.

Don't Buy It!

If you don't have a 4K or UHD tv, this is a waste. My Roku 3 was just as fast and just as great in performance. Now here's what I am most upset about--the included remote has a prominent button marked Rdio for a service now gone. I have a brand new remote with a button Roku has just announced won't work anymore--for anything. Great customer service would be to recall these and send new ones without the defunct button. This thing is expensive and early buyers should not be penalized. New remotes Roku and I will be happy.

Very disappointing

I upgraded from Roku - 2 to the Roku - 4 version mostly because I expected a better over-all experience. I am interested in classical music concerts offered through YouTube.It is most disturbing having the Roku-4 payer interrupt the playing every five minutes for about three seconds which kills any enjoyment of watching those programs.
I wish I could return this player. Naturally, I am back to using Roku-2.
No - I would not recommend this product - not even to an enemy.
Another reason I disliked the player: tree is no tutorial available and it is impossible to explore the sop-called features.
