Don't buy, work for about a wk then purple snow

We have multiple Roku units going back to 2013, all still in service. Bought a Roku 4 to go with our new 4k TV. The first one worked for about 10 days before purple snow appeared. Had to reset, was fine for a day or 2. Then, no more video at all. Was past the 15 day return policy, so we had to exchange. This one had "purple snow" & needed reset at day 8. Going back for a return. These units run very hot compared to our other Roku units. Not sure if the heat is a contributing factor to this issue, but I see others have experienced the same.

Too Noisy for a Bedroom! Fan Stays on 24/7

The fan is noisy and stays on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It seemed like it should shut off when not in use for more than 24 hours, but tech support verified that the fan running at 25% power was the standby setting and that the fan is ALWAYS RUNNING. Bought this as my second ROKU, loved the 3 hate the 4.

So the main problem is I'm coming from Apple TV which works flawlessly. The Roku4 took hours and I mean hours to set up. I'll approximate 4-6hours. I can't tell you how many times I almost packed it in. I had to use the website for troubleshooting and live text with someone. That didn't go so great. Anyways I got it working but then it just stopped. I got so tired of troubleshooting it, meaning resetting it and pulling the cord out the wall plus waiting 30 seconds for it to reboot, that I ended up plugging in Apple TV.
So the features would be nice, when it worked I did like its potential, but it's going to be hard for me to give them a shot again after taking hours of my life just to get this thing to work. Good luck to you if you buy this, time is money to me and I am done spending it.
I reurned the Roku4 the next day

Very buggy and reboots sub par peformance

The Roku 4 reboots arbitrarily during use of Netflix, Tablotv and general use of the menu functions. WIFI network has never connected to my 802.11ac wireless hub. Don't try to do wireless while the network is plugged in else things get confused. I was hopeful that this would be a superior product over the Roku 3 but at this point wish I would have stayed with the Roku 3 and not purchased this product.

Disappointing

I bought this with great expectations and am greatly disappointed. The interface reminds me of a Windows 95 computer. The available channels don't offer what I would expect from a 4k streaming device

Over-hyped

Huge disappointment. The UI feels like something from 5-10 years ago. Not able to sideload Kodi. Replaced it with a Fire TV and I am 50x happier. It may lack the app/channel selection of the Roku but being able to sideload Kodi makes up for that. It also has a UI that feels like it was designed this century.

Could not get Roku4 to perform. It actually made my 4K television look like a 256k blurry monitor. I tried it on a 1080 dpi TV and the image stayed blank (did not work). Went back to older AppleTV with very clear images. On 1080 dpi TV I use a Roku3, which works great.
