I had it for a few days, I is the same as all the other models. I returned it and got the newest Apple TV

Just wish they had more free channels. Sports, live tv. And I bought roku to lower my bill, but almost every channel you still have to a subscription to the cable companies.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Slow, noisy, unresponsive. YouTube app is useless. The whole thing stops responding for minutes by just trying to fast forward videos etc.
Don't waste your money.

I turn the Roku back after the reception was very BAD!!! The only channel that came or I watch was netflex and that was coming in and out!!! Very Bad Experience with Roku 4... Will not buy another unless you can show me that it is Good?

Good features, but freezes up

I bought this a week ago. I had a first generation Apple TV.
It kept freezing up and running hot all of the time. I had to unplug it to reset it several times including once when it would power back on.

My bottom line for purchase of Roku 4 was to get rid of local cable provider which was proving to be expensive & had a serious problem with customer service. Even though Roku 4 was a bit more expensive, I purchased it after I returned Amazon Fire. Everything has been relatively easy so far. Icons on tv screen are big, bold & easy to read. My overall rating received a 'good' rating as I have 2 problems, first would be that the all apps are free, but then some channels have a subscription fee after that. I understand if the channel needed a fee for a pay-per-view event, but should not charge to watch something basic. Second, I would like to see several more totally free channels like HGTV & local sports. Then there are missing channels like Great American Country, RFD, , Impact Wrestling & Lucha Underground. I think this is an excellent product that is a good mix of high tech but is still simple enough for the average person to use. With that in mind, I would say to anyone paying high cable tv bills to cut the cord & go with Roku 4. THANK YOU!
