At first I was excited at all the buzz on web sites and its content. I bought it and tried to watch some but almost every channel requires you to sign up and register. Some channels even ask for a cable subscription which defies all logic of the device. It is annoying. “Free” channels have terrible ads that pop up way to often. Most of the content is old.YOU MUST provide a credit card during account creation before watching anything or even seeing the layout.No built-in browser or live TV option.In some ways, cable can actually be cheaper — and less of a headache — than going without. For instance, if you watch a lot of different TV shows, your cable bill will be cheaper than using Internet TV to subscribe to the shows you want to watch.
Not two persons can watch different internet TV at the same time. There is virtually not enough bandwidth to do streaming to more than one device simultaneously. Concluding that the cord-cutting hype is totally overblown.

So far (2 days) I love it. What I didn't like, I first had to make a Roku Account to login. Knowing nothing about Roku, I didn't like being Forced to enter a CC or Paypal account, then I HAD to give permission to Roku to charge to my Paypal. I was very worried I would be charged some hidden fee or something. I almost didn't register. But I did register and have not see any hidden charges yet. So far it's been great. I'll let you know in a month if everything is ok or not.

I have been through the gamut with streaming boxes. The Roku 3 worked well but was too slow. The 4k Fire TV had serious problems with Hulu and Plex. The new Apple TV 4 has the worst remote known to man. So I was stuck with this Roku 4. Overall it works very well. Apps load and run as expected. It is a good deal snappier than the Roku 3 in my living room. So it just works, which is great. The problem is that the interface feels like a child's toy. It's blocky and awkward. Nothing like the experience on the fire tv or even the apple tv. These guys need to get it together and design an interface that feels elegant and useful. But, like I said, it works, so they are doing something right.

I have had WD and roku 3,This is the best media streamer that I have ever owned.I do not see how you can make it better than it is now..

Updated from ROKU 2 which I liked very much but this 4 is better. Love it. Sharper picture and better handling of my rural and poor internet service.
