Extremely unhappy!

I bought this dish washer a month ago and it has an awful high pitch noise from the motor. We had the GE repair man come out and he said the sound is normal for these dishwashers. My husband and I have been married almost 20 years and have never had a dishwasher that was bothersome. The pitch feels like ringing in your ears or taking off in an airplane. My children and husband complain about the high pitch motor. I don't like being home when I run the dishwasher. We wish we would have purchased a different brand and a different dishwasher. It was frusterating that once you purchased the dishwasher and had it installed, there was nothing that could be done, other then have a repair man come out. Regretting this purchase everyday!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

GE, a Dish Washer that Works

Back in 1999 we lived in an apartment with a old GE dishwasher. It worked well. Fast-forward to 2002 we moved into our first home and the dishwasher there was of a competing brand. The water never heated up hot enough, and we always had to pre-rinse our dishes. Fast-forward to 2008, we moved into our current home. It had another competing brand dish washer. Not only did the water not heat hot enough, and the dishes did not get clean on the first go around; but the utensil holder was the worst, flimsy contraption that spilled out all the utensils when opening the dishwasher door. My wife and I said that once the dishwasher died completely we would get a GE. Guess what, it's 2015 and we have a new GE 24" Stainless Steel Built-In Dishwasher and the water gets searing hot, the utensil holders are a great design, the product is a breath of fresh air hands down. Thanks GE!

Decent job....

It's so hard to buy a dishwasher since you really are not loading/unloading and using until after purchase. This seemed okay in the store, but once home it doesn't have features I was use to. Namely, the silverware basket is too small, and the location for plates and bowls of all sizes is very oddly arranged. Also I find that it is still wet inside, door and items on top rack when I open to unload. Another feature I don't have in this is a 15 min rinse cycle. I like to use that from time to time, when I am leaving the house over night, and don't need a full wash cycle.
