Latch sensor failed after less than 50 runs

Very disappointed in this early failure of a latch sensor. We found that the dishwasher stopped early in the cycle and tried to restart it without success. About 15 seconds after pressing the start button, a chime sounds and the front indicator light flashes amber, same pattern as when I press start but leave the door open. My husband, the reliability engineer, cut the power off at the circuit breaker and then restarted the machine as per GE consumer advice, but to no avail. Removed the tub-sided latch snd same error chime/indicator light pattern. Google search of the problem reveals multiple suggestions for adjusting the dishwasher installation to insure a good connection between sensors when closing the door. The latch closes completely and securely, but the sensors have simply failed. An after-market replacement latch is available through Walmart or Amazon for about $28. We’ll try the other brand and hope that their product is more reliable. Very disappointed in GE which has been such a reliable brand for us.

Poor quality and reliability

On about the fiftieth time running the dishwasher, it stopped midcycle. Unable to restart it.
About 15 seconds after pressing the start button, a chime sounds and the front indicator light flashes amber, same pattern as when I press start but leave the door open. Further investigation revealed that the tub-side of the door latch sensor has failed. Very disappointed as this is not up to our expectations for GE quality and reliability.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Product is used 2x in 5 years now not working. Problems with latch door causing replacement and still not working. Keys functions not reachable when installed under counter.

Control panel went out

Disappointed. The control panel went out within 3 years of us purchasing for a rental property that is rented half the year. Dishwasher is hardly used. Not a great product and GE doesn’t have a warranty beyond a year. Disappointing.

Control Panel Issues

Have had this for 4 years now in a rental property and the control panel has continual issues to the point where the diswasher control panel becomes unusable and maintenance has to come in and work on it every couple weeks to get it back up and running. My expectation is a diswasher should last for more that 4 years.

When it worked it was ok. Now it just doesn’t work any more. It used to light up randomly several times a day but at least it still kinda worked. Now it does nothing. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this unit. JUNK !!

If the dishwasher won’t run at all, you may want to check the fuse or circuit breaker to ensure enough power is reaching the unit, and the control panel to make sure it isn’t locked. The manual does also have details on what a light may indicate. If you experience an issue with the unit lighting up randomly again, resetting the electrical components by disconnecting it from power for a couple minutes before reconnecting may help.

Takes hours to clean, does not dry

This takes hours to run a full cycle, never dried the dishes and goes out for days and then randomly turns back on. Only worked for 4 years.
