We're so sorry that your dishwasher's door isn't closing and that it won't start. This would be very discouraging and we understand your frustration.
The beeping you're hearing is likely due to the door not closing (it will beep every minute to remind you to close the door) and the unit won't begin a wash cycle with the door open. To cancel a wash cycle, press and hold the Start button for 3 seconds and close door. The dishwasher will drain, emit a beep sound, and the wash cycle light will turn OFF.

We have this dishwasher, purchased in 2020 by the former owner of our home. From the day we moved in about 9 months ago, this dishwasher has intermittently powered down and stopped working. Appears no power is going to the dishwasher because none of the lights will turn on, but the outlet is working correctly and it is not a circuit issue. We had previously been able to get it to come back to life after unplugging, waiting and replugging. However, it stopped working this morning and we are have not been able to get it to turn on all day. I see MANY other reviews describing the same issue. A brand name GE staple appliance should not break within 3 years but here we are. We're likely going to have to replace it, and I will absolutely not buy another GE dishwasher.

It is quiet. But we have had problems with the motherboard not recognizing the door is locked. We have unplugged and plugged it for months with it successfully working. Now out of warranty it needs parts. Most likely will replace.

Only lasted 3 years before it started going out

When I bought my house all the appliances came with it. They were two years old at the time from what I understand. When the dish washer was about 3 years old the control board started going out. It still worked if we restarted the breaker. Obviously this only worked for a while longer, but we ordered a new control board for the dishwasher and it kept coming in broken. This happened FOUR TIMES between two different companies. The repair company that we were using finally just refunded us our money and said good luck because they didnt want to charge us for broken products. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED. I usually love my GE products but this dishwasher just isnt it.

Problems and barely ever used!

So, I'm not one to use the Dishwasher and it came already installed with my newly built home, so I'm assuming the builder's bought a contractor package of appliances to install in newly built homes. I may have used it less than 5 times from Oct 2017 till April 2022.
May arrives and my fiance moves in from Utah and encouraged me to use it, so I did start using it. When not in use, it just goes on and off by itself, like just starting up, for NO REASON. Once I have a load of dishes in, I go to start and it takes me about 5-10 mins to get the Control Panel to light up to start a cycle.
This is very frustrating and While I like this dishwasher and all my other GE products, definitely do NOT recommend a GE dishwasher at all.
