I have not figured out how to use just rinse or spin cycles without going through the whole cycle from start.

The reviews about the washer being loud are all correct. OUr other GE was loud so it doesn't bother us. . I didn't realize that you can't simply do a rinse,You have to do a complete cycle to activate the rinse feature.
Oddly, sometimes when you put in a load, one or two things will come out completely dry. And, there is no feature for an extra spin. It would be nice if they would make some changes.. We bought it because the size of the lid would not bang against the cabinet. We had another GE that died when there was a power surge.
