Unit worked a grand total of 3hrs before the rod broke and the tub dropped. Currently trying to get the unit replaced because the downtime for this fix is way too long. I guess it's a nice looking paper weight . . . .

It leaves gray residue on clothes

Unfortunately I do not recommend this washer because one, it can stain a few of your clothes with gray residue. We noticed this after having it for three months. I think it happens when one chooses to fill the washer with water ("Deep Fill" and/or "Deep Rinse") and it's normally the few article of clothes on the very bottom of the washer. You can rewash the stained clothes but 50% of the time it won't come out. Second, I don't think it does a good job cleaning baby clothes (we used all types of detergents). The best way to clean baby clothes is with a tub full of water but we have the problem with gray stains.
What is great about the washer is it has great functions, wash time is faster than most (35 minutes) and it does a fantastic job rinsing out the water (practically comes out dry).
If only we did not have the gray stain problem, I would have given this product five stars!

This machine was delivered yesterday. I bought it because it has a feature to be able to add extra water to the wash and rinse cycle. It does a great job but it is VERY noisy.

Get a different machine if you want clean clothes

I hate this machine. My clothes come out still dirty. I have to wash twice to get anything clean. I swear it doesn't even get some of the clothes wet. And it is loud! If I am washing something large or even just a few towels, the machine cannot balance the load and it starts knocking the wall and sounds like a jackhammer. My husband convinced me to go with this machine. I loved my front loader. Only replaced it because our house flooded. Very disappointed.

I recently needed to replace a front end load, HEO washing machine that was only 6 years old. I read the reviews and choose the GE washer/top load. I specifically wanted a washer that offered deep fill, deep rinse and the ability to spin when wanted. I have not been disappointed. This washer does a great job cleaning! Some reviews cited that it would become unbalanced and was noisy. It has never been unbalanced although I do not do huge loads. .It adds the right amount of water and is fairly quiet. I love it compared to the fancy front end loader that I had and I can actually get the clothes out without bending over and climbing into the machine! Now, I just hope it lasts 10 years or more!!
