I like the see through glass lid on washer. I also like that my clothes and towels smell fresh. My old HE front loading, the clothes smelled.

Just got this yesterday but have used 3times. Very impressed with the efficiency of the water use. A few odd noises but I'll get used to them and I love the glass top.

I obsessively researched washing machines before purchasing this unit -- my previous washer was a Kenmore Elite front-loader that I bought back in 2005 for over 3x the price of this machine. I feel as though this GE top-loader cleans better, and leaves my clothes smelling far fresher and cleaner, than my once top-of-the-line front loader.
I'm confused by the people who say this washer leaks, walks around, makes horrible noises, etc., but I suppose a lot of people don't read instructions or mistakenly think they know how to install and use a modern washer. I've had no issues with this machine.
This is a great product, especially for the price.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We have washed every thing in our laundry baskets and then some and am very pleased with the results form the washing machine.
It is very easy to use and looks wonderful in my utility room.The unit has a smaller profile than my last machine and fits nicely in the room

DOESN'T FILL/RUINS CLOTHES

Horrible washing machine, ruins clothes (ties them in a knot), never fills with enough water even when choosing the Deep Fill option (only fills deeply on the 'bulky items' option)
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I was a very, I mean weeping and gnashing of teeth, reluctant to get an HE washer. I held my old washer together with duct tape and spit just to avoid buying an HE. This machine has quelled my fear. I like this machine very much. The noises that come from it do take some time to get used to. Sounds VERY wrong. Thought it was funny that GE has a Video you can download demonstrating all the sounds so you know they are OK. :-) I like that I can choose deep fill or deep rinse. ONLY feature I dislike is the BULKY ITEMS and TOWELS/SHEETS settings. This is because the default for an unbalanced load is to drain and refill over and over until it spins itself back into balance. Since the door stays locked, you can just rearrange the items and move on. The fill/refill process can take over 30 minutes. I solved this by no longer using these functions. But haven't tried anything really bulky again. Will see next week, when I try quilts.

GREAT WASHER WITH LARGE CAPACITY

I have owned this washer for about 2.5 months now and have really enjoyed it. I had a front loader before and decided to go with a top loader. Clothes have come out very clean and uses less water than my other machine. Although, if I have a heavy load, you can set for extra fill. The stainless steel tub without an agitator works well too. No clothes wrapped around the agitator and the washer doesn't seem to get off balance a lot. Would recommend this washer!
