A test in patience.

I love my GE products, however this new washer has me stumped. There was no literature included with the product to explain in detail the differences in settings or what to expect with each. Through trial and error, I have finally figured out what works best for me, which is quite different from what is indicated on the machine load setting dial. One thing I do love about it though, is that GE (and other brands) have finally figured out that a normal load of clothes cannot be adequately cleaned in 3" of water. With the proper setting selected, my new machine will fill to 11" (a pretty full tub) which makes a whole lot more sense. I'm sure I will grow to love this machine as much as I do my GE dryer and stove. Would I recommend this product to a friend? Honestly, I probably wouldn't recommend any of the washers to anyone. However, since no one makes the "old school" washers anymore, what choices do we have?

If you are looking to add more water to your load, you can press the Deep Fill button once to add an extra three gallons. If you hold the button, the tub will fill to its max capacity.

This washer cleans well and rinses the clothes clean of soap. Doesn't spin out as well as our old Fischer & Paykel.

Its a good washer with perfect settings. The only downfall to this washer is the tray where the detergent goes. If you do not use this washer every week and you leave the washer closed when not in use the tray will tend to get mold growing on it. This washer is at our vacation home and the cleaning ladies did not leave it open after using and when we went back after 2 months there was some black mold on the tray. The tray however does come out easily and it was easy to clean. We asked the cleaning ladies to leave the washer open when not in use and we've notice no more mold on the tray
