rusted piece of junk destroys clothes staining clothes with rust - less than 4years old, rust seems minor- but when top separated from bottom - top is completely rusted on the underside and rust flaks falling into drum
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very disappointed

I bought a GE brand since I have always had good luck with their products in the past. Not to be the case with this washing machine. Because it is energy efficient if uses a very small amount of water for each load and clothes come out very twisted and intertwined with each other, even using the delicate cycle and deep fill. Therefore clothes don't always get clean and sometimes come out with dry spots that didn't even absorb water. They would also end up with washer puke as we called it on them as well so I started adding 2 buckets of water to each cycle before starting loads to soak the clothes and add weight hoping to fill loads with more water. At just over 1 year, and extended warranty running out, detergent and softener quit feeding through on several cycle options, and of course delicate which I used the most. I now use quick wash which seems to be the only dependable cycle and use the soak setting to get a better wash. And of course I still add water to every cycle. The large basket is a great feature but bulky, fluffy bedspreads MUST be soaked 1st to ensure they get washed and washer puke on them somewhere ALWAYS happens.
I chose not to go with a front load and really regret it. I also should have listened to the sales person who tried to sway me towards another brand that she said was a top seller and had good reviews but I was set on a GE product, therefore choosing this one even though the reviews I had read were mixed.

Very poor quality

After 4 yrs went thru 3 lid switches and the last 2 where the updated ones. Both of the switches on the last 2 replaced failed. Plus over time the washer tub came out of balance. No support for the fix 4 yrs later.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After searching for a new washer, I finally came across this GE washer. It had a lot of features and I liked the clear door so you can see the wash being cleaned. Nice large tub that can fit many clothes. I only had this washer for a month and I’m very pleased on how it functions.
I would recommend this to a friend!
