Horrible. Started malfunctioning within a year

One of the worst appliances I’ve ever purchased. Panel started malfunctioning within a year, won’t spin. Technician from G& basically told me I’d be better off buying a new one. Had the thing for a year and a half. Since then it’s only gotten worse.

Started out fine

We have had this set for a few years. They started out fine and then the washer got hung up mid cycle. It will add minutes to the cycle or just stop running and hum. Of course all issues happened after the one year warranty.

I don't know how old this thing is. There is no manufacturer date next to the serial #. Washes poorly & can not balance a load. This washer came with the house.

Common problem why won't GE do a recall

I have been seeing that a lot of people are complaining about this washer buttons going crazy just after the warranty of 3 years i believe this isn't correct if they know this washer is having issues with the motherboard why won't they do a recall?? I always had a GE appliance but this is not acceptable. Won't be buying anymore if i would have known my washer would break after 3 years and regular use.

Buildup in Washer Basket

Washer GTW680BSJ6WS has “residue” buildup despite following page 18 cleaning and deep cleaning instructions in the owner’s manual. This transfers to clothes during each wash cycle so that clothes come out dirtier. During the basket clean mode, the residue floats in the water and looks like grey paper mache bits. Have never experienced anything like this before and if it was an affordable option, would replace it, although one wouldn’t expect to have to replace a washing machine that’s only 4-yrs-old.
