Love the deep fill

I got this originally when I was still cloth diapering my youngest child. It is a wonderful washer once you understand how to load it and run it to it's best performance.

So far so good. I have had it for 4 years and it started making a noise I'm waiting for the insurance to come look at it.

The transmission went out at the 5 year mark, cost more to fix than buy a comparable new machine. I do recommend this.

Okay but could be better!

I like the glass lid and the electronic controls. Can't seem to find one function that I would use occasionally, a separate prewash function (just wash and spin can also be used as second rinse and spin). DON'T LIKE the way it twists and tangles sleeves and pant legs.

Poor performance. Can only wash small loads.

I've owned this machine for 5 years now. It does a poor job of washing clothes. It's only effective at washing small loads and you have to add more water using deep fill. The deep rinse cycle is a joke! It needs to be more powerful to agitate the clothes and get the soap out. Deep fill is also inadequate. On the bulky setting it barely reaches 2/3 full. No point in buying a large capacity washer to only be able to wash half the rated amount of clothes! Will not buy another GE again in the future, or HE washer for that matter.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

GE Washer metal disintegrated

We have had this washer for a little over 2 years and the metal under the basket has corroded and we have to buy a new washer! Unacceptable by GE! When you google basket not spinning, it's amazing how many people have the metal underneath just disintegrate! Do better GE! No excuse for a new washer to have to be replaced so soon! Very disappointed! Zero stars!!!
