Great Laundry settings

I bought this washer about 7 years ago and loved everything about it. Speed setting, cleaning clothes, optional deep fill, never needed service. Now it is broken, need to replace it, cannot find one to buy anywhere. But it was my favorite washer I ever owned.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is a terrible washer. It’s always out of balance no matter what you try. If you can finish one load without having to rebalance the laundry consider yourself lucky.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We are so sorry that your washer becomes frequently unbalanced while in use. We recommend viewing the loading instructions on page 18 of the Owner's Manual at the link below to avoid unbalancing. Also, please ensure that your unit is properly level, as an unleveled unit can cause unbalancing within the wash load.

Detoured at the door of awesome

I like the machine a lot and I make good use of its features and settings. My wife doesn't find those things as helpful or intuitive, but I do. However, she does most of the laundry. Whether large loads or small it is difficult to keep them balanced enough to avoid shaking. The shaking has broken the lid soon after we bought the machine and soon after we replaced the lid the first time. The glass lid should be stronger if the machine is going to be sensitive to unbalanced loads. Also the pumps can't accept any grit whatsoever.

GE washer

The only complaint is when you put big things in it like a blanket it doesn't get it clean the first wash you have to wash it twice. We had it for 6 years and the only thing is the recirculate pump started leaking but got tje parts number and got a new one it takes less than ten minutes to change.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Tub failed at 7 years with large chunks of gravel

After 7 years, without warning, the washer just stopped spinning. Large chunks of some sort of gravel/stone residue was left in the tub and all over the clothes. After searching online and reading the reviews, this seems to be a common issue that hasn't been addressed. We've had GE appliances for over 30 years and didn't expect it to just break apart suddenly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
