There is no control over the depth of the water.

The electronics control your laundry. I have no control over the water level - there is an extra water fill button - it does not add enough water to cover the clothes. The lid is locked through the cycle and adding clothes or any adjustment you might want to make is not possible unless you start the cycle from the beginning. There is lint and soap residue on the clothing. I hate this washer.

Very loud!!!!

Even the guys connecting the machine, commented how loud it was on the test run. I hoped that it would be less noisy with clothes in it, but it is worse.

Easy to operate

I had to buy a new washer. I wanted to get a good name brand and what I was offered GE was the only choice. This was the first one in the line without an agitator. I have had it for about two weeks and I absolutely love it. It is easy to operate, with very clear load choices ( no guess work). The only thing at first that was hard to get use to was the water level. The old one was over 16 years old (GE) and it filled the basket almost up to the top. So far, no complaints whatsoever.

Great appliance

I don’t have any complaints yet and that is why I only rated it a 4 out of 5. I’ve only had my washer since the end of October. So far it has been great and I haven’t had any issues whatsoever. Up to this point 5 stars would be good but I feel I still haven’t had it long enough to fully determine whether it will continue working this way.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Too Noisy!

I was excited to go back to a top loader but am totally dissatisfied with this washer. It’s very noisy and I don’t particular care for the “SENSING” cycle. As this is when it seems to be the most noisy. If I’ve overlooked something please let me know. Great looking machine but noise level is equally important to me when selecting appliances. I wish there were some sort of tutorial in these appliances dept. so, you can hear the washers/dryers.

Needs more water

This machine is the new version of the GE machine I used for the previous 10 years (WPGT9150). It is clear that they have further decreased the amount of water used for each wash but, whereas the previous version reduced water consumption markedly, was quiet and washed all size loads well, this current machine has taken things too far. For a small to medium load, there is insufficient water to allow the clothes to rotate (thus only one side gets the benefit of the water fountain) or tumble (which means the top layer does not get wet). The bottom layer of clothes is beaten against the fins of the machine causing stretching and pilling. It requires you to use the deep fill option for all loads. In listening to the audio supplied by GE on the web, it is clear that there is no laundry in the washer when these recordings are being made since you do NOT hear sloshing water in this machine even if the deep fill option is used. The rinse cycle is 2.5 minutes. At the end of this cycle, the water is the same color as the wash water. Thus I must use the second rinse option if I want the water to clear. (I use 1 Tablespoon of a HE detergent and no other products in minimally-to-moderately soiled clothes.) The manual discourages using these functions for all loads but if you don't use them, you have to rewash the load. Thus, I am now using MORE water than I used with my old machine. This machine is exceedingly loud throughout the cycle. I recommend placing this machine in a room where you can close the door and you are far from any conversation or sleeping children. The number of bangs, clicks and rocking noises throughout the wash cycle makes it very obtrusive. I can no longer remain in the laundry room while the machine is running.

NO water, doesnt balance well
on March 10, 2019

This machine is not what I hoped for. I MUST add extra water to every load - even on deep fill! I washed 4 pair of Jeans on a regular Jean's setting , and there were dry spots that never got wet, when the cycle was done!! I went back and used "Deep Fill" (joke) and the water STILL did not even cover the fabric! Now I have to stand there at EVERY load and add extra water on top of the deep fill. Because there is no center piece at all, a load of sheets will get off center easily, and I am always either rescuing my machine from "walking" into the neighbor's house, or I come in to put the load in the dryer and it has shut off because it was off center and could not spin. Then I have to pull heavy soaking wet sheets out to try and balance them so it will spin. If balanced, the spin cycle does work great and pulls water beautifully. And, if you are able to add enough water, it will wash well. You just have to babysit every single load. Lastly, I want to know when the cycle is done. The "chime" is so quiet that you can be standing 10 feet away and not hear it - so I have to constantly stick my head in the laundry room to see if it is ready for the next load. We saved up to buy nice new machines (washer & dryer) so I have to live with this nonsense. Please, if you are considering this machine.....RUN!
