Only bought this machine a few months ago. I got the dryer that goes with it and have issues with both machines.
The washer is sooooooooooo noisy and vibrates so violently, that i can't sit in my living room. According to service there is nothing wrong with it.
Wish I never bought this machine or brand. Looking to replace it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Out of box failure

The first machine delivered was an out of the box failure. The machine I registered was a replacement. The initial experience did not give me with a good feeling about GE Appliance quality. Hopefully this machine will not be subject to infant mortality.

Just too noisy!

I like many of the features on this washer such as the deep fill. The tub is not as deep as some of the other washers, so I can still reach the bottom at 5' 1". The main drawback is it it just so noisy. It just grinds and grinds. As our utility room is just off the kitchen I hear it constantly.

This washer is extremely loud, since it doesn’t fill the tub with water as my last washer did, I have to make smaller loads which makes me have to do more loads than before. I have to use the deep fill option very often to ensure my clothes are getting clean and the detergent is being rinsed out of clothes. Would not recommend this washer.

I find that things get twisted up and takes time pulling out of washer to put into dryer, also, on spin dry they seem to be wetter than old machine, also on spin cycle the machine seems to vibrate a lot, I do not overload, sat morning, ( queen bed sheets 2 pillow cases, twin bed sheets and 1 pillow case), not bad for a machine????
